| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 22, 2005 Light yellow/golden, sparkling, with a medium sized head and excellent lacing. Light grassy and sweet aroma. Taste is refreshing, bready, dusty, come citrus zest, mild pepper hop finish. 2nd bottle was better than the first. noelcb (271), Toledo, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 19, 2005 Updated: Aug 30, 2005This is an excellent brew. It pours a wonderful sparkly gold and forms a full head which quickly dissipates. There is a clean aroma, with subtle notes of herbs, spice and pepper. The taste is balanced, refreshing and complex, but the flavors meld together to give a nice beer taste, not too hoppy or astringent. From sip to swallow, it doesn’t disappoint. I’m quickly becoming a Kolsch convert and Gaffel is leading the charge. Dickinsonbeer (3604), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 19, 2005 Bottle: Very light straw color with a nice pure white head which lasts. Aroma is very grassy and somewhat herbal with hints of sweet malt and maybe a nuance of fruitiness from the yeast. Flavor is balanced nicely between slightly bitter hops and malt. Overall- on the light side as far as body goes, but easy to drink and pretty refreshing. When I was in Koln I remember this to be better on tap. Better than Reissdorff which is the only other authentic kolsch I can get around here. zathrus13 (1321), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 13, 2005 Pale yellow, with a white head. Aromas of hops and grain. A light body, with flavors of malt and hops, mostly understated. Nothing special... mephisto (1144), Taiwan

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 12, 2005 First off, I’m rating a bottled version that is probably not the freshest. This stuff is probably much better close to the source. Anyways....Wow, what a great looking head! Super creamy with great retention. Aromas were of dusty malts and light grassy hops. Mild flavors with hints of biscuit and a crisp hoppy finish. As said before, this stuff is probably better when fresh. I guess I’ll have to go to Germany sometime! shrubber85 (3019), Wallhalben, Germany
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 4, 2005 Bottle. Slightly sweet grainy malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Slightly sweet creamy malt flavor - smooth and full-bodied. The best Kölsch I’ve ever had - doesn’t have a strange sweet flavor like other Kölschs I’ve tried. Very good.
