3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 cheapdark (2809) - Quiptown & Central Valley, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 3, 2011
Hah, I thought this was goffel, heheh. Has a good peculiar pilsner aroma. Quite sharp full of co2 sizzle makes this immediately interesting. Lots of cutting co2 make this fun to drink. Very tasty. At first I thought it was going to be the typical pilsner want a be but the overriding co2 bites makes you totally distracted from that. Taste is somewhat like the discription here; fruity at times when the pilsner bite fades.

16oz Draught at Congregation Ale House, Long Beach. Clear, yellow pils, thin head, little lacing. Bread, cereal, and citrus aroma. Salty, bitter, sweet/sour taste. "Biscuit" is probably the word. Palate is soft with gentle or no finish. Great and session beer.

As my German customer Thurston yells at me every day he comes in " Zee beers must be fresh! After 200 years of watching Deutsche brewink you might have learned zis by now!"
But this Kolsch is actually from Koln, and it is as fresh as it gets. Beautiful crystal-clear straw yellow color with a tight and creamy white head. Smells of yeast, malt earthiness and fresh apple/grass. Taste follows the aromas exactly. Very creamy on the finish, but nice dry bitterness lingers.
Damn good beer, absolutely refreshing, and not expensive at all! This is what German brewing is all about, not destroying your palate with an overload of hops or roasted bitterness. This beer is great.

Bright, clear, golden... huge billowy white head like ice cream. Floral aromas of pilsner malt and Saaz hops. Light, soft mouthfeel. Fruity with a slight hop finish. Pleasant, light apertif.
