COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The laws protecting the brewing of kolsch are as strict as the German Purity Law of 1516. Kolsch beer can only be brewed within the city of Cologne. As the best-known kolsch brewery, Gaffel’s flavor is derived from an ale yeast that is "lagered" (or aged) in cold cellars. Gaffel is pale, faintly fruity with a crisp, hop finish. Enjoy as an aperitif or digestif.

Cerveja hibrida, aroma pouco frutado, sabor acentuado de lúpulo com retrogosto amargo, porém balanceado. Coloração ouro claro com brilho maravilhoso. Pouca formação de espumas.

Aroma is subtlety malty with fruit notes. Pours a clear golden hue with a white head and minimal lacing. The taste is soft with a hoppy bitter finish. Medium-light and moderate carbonation. Overall, good with a hoppy finish.

PsychoGunnar (200) - Bergen, NORWAY - OCT 11, 2014
Smells authoritarian yet balanced of over-ripened fruits; the taste contains multiple notes of pilsner bitterness as well as sour and dry elements. It is more complex than a pilsner, but not necessarily to its favour.

Bought a bottle from Edeka in Troisdorf. Typical beer from Koln. Crystal clear beer, sweet and light. Good carbonation and tidy finish.

Bottle purchased from a small grocery in Berlin. Very typical Kolsch: strong and rich flavor, relatively subdued. Not much stands out though. Good balance of hops and malt. Moderate bitterness. Not particularly outstanding in any way, but very pleasant and I’d gladly drink again.

It is a pleasure to have a genuine Cologne-brewed Kolsch on tap in Berlin served in authentic stange glassware. Appears bright golden with a small white head that laces nicely. Delicate fruity aromas with pear, lychee, citrus and grains reflected on the tongue with a lovely soft velvety palate and mild dry hoppy finish. Medium-light bodied with an oily texture and light carbonation. Gorgeous. Very sessionable.

Very clear golden, with not a good head retention, very subtle grainy aroma and a little bit of sulfur. Grainy and fruity but subtle in flavor, medium bitterness, It has a medium body. I like the balance in this beer, it tastes almost like a good pils but with a more rounded ale flavor.

Tap. Puts a transparent light golden with a thin layer of cream colored head. Aroma and taste of bread malts and some yeast.

Pours a clear honey colour, with a thin wispy head. Aroma notes include apple, pear, dusty, and some tangy esters. Tasting notes include lots of pear, apple, and apricot. Light malts, and a very slight hop presence rounds out this light creamy brew. Very nice beer, and highly drinkable! I can imagine drinking this on some patio in Germany!
