2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Aurelius (3146) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 10, 2005
Plain. Very plain. Dry, underhopped, not very crisp. Not much to say. Muted aroma. Girlie beer.

Light golden colour with almost no head. Aroma of bittered metallic malt. Light-bodied; Bad crisp flavour with a mild yeastiness and little else. Aftertaste sharp and bitter with only a mild finish. Overall, not really a kolsch in my mind...but regardless of the style-not a great beer! I had this on draught at MacGregor's in Rochester, New York on 31-March-2004.

500mL Bottle, 04.26.04. Pours pale golden straw color; large, bubbly head, fades quickly to a trace. Head has a soapy iradescence (using a freshened pilsner glass). Aroma reeks of grain, grass, and cardboard. Pilsnerish. Watered down, bland texture with no active carbonation (sounded fresh when I popped the cap). Crisp, bitter finish has a metallic sting to it. Wet corrugated cardboard is prominent in nose and flavor. I did not enjoy this beer that seemed uncomfortably stuck between Kolsch and Pilsener - hardly any fruit to it, and not a pleasing bitterness, although it was dryly bitter. Perhaps a bad bottle.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 ChainGangGuy (3837) - Canton, Georgia, USA - NOV 25, 2007
Appearance: Pours a clear, pale yellow body with a small, short-lived, fizzy white head.
Smell: Unpleasant, somewhat distressed aroma of soggy cardboard and grains accentuated by a slight grassiness.
Taste: Incredibly light, crackery malt flavor with notes of grass. Medium bitterness. Ugh, that cardboard taste really kicks up near the finish. Metallic aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Simply atrocious!
2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 McWorta (71) - LUXEMBOURG - MAR 31, 2011
Typical Kölsch. Nice white head. It is a cold refreshing liquid but tastes unspectecular and its aroma suffers of a bore-out. Finish is rather quick.
Drinkable though!

Yeah! Beer field trip in Köln. Must have been very drunk when I wrote this one, can’t barely read my paper. Lets see... Very flowery aroma. Patsz, clear orange, small white head. Taste... hort eo nile.

Draft @ some German resturaunt in downtown Lake something-Sanford/Orlando, FL. Place was decent and the people there spoke German. Sounded kind of swiss Austrian German which is weird, but not as weird as Swiss German. So yea, the beer. Pour was draft, gold in colour with a decent white head. Nose is grainy with light bread-type notes. Taste was grassy, dry, and single-minded. Some bread like notes, and a mild dry bitterness. Meh.

Bottled at Silja Line Stockholm-Turku. Clear pale golden, average head. Sweet and fruity with medium body. Grassy and minerally with mellow mouthfeel. Rough and basic.

I’m really not impressed with this beer. It’s pretty watery, there isn’t enough hops, and I felt kind of like I was drinking it without knowing exactly why.

Sweet corn aroma, also dusty and barnlike. Yellow with no head, really boring. Sweet taste with a light fruity note. Watery finish. It didn’t hurt, but I missed the usual good kölsch notes.
