2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. You smell the watered down hops. Very dull. Taste is super easy drinking. Boring pale but expectations are low

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
330mL bottle BB 21/3/14
Clean golden body, holds a small suddy head.
Offers a good whiff of grassy, spicy, cooked citrus and unripe melon hop on the nose. Not much malt character to mention.
Medium-light body, texture is somewhat soapy, moderately high carbonation with some bite.
Hops from nose donít translate too well to palate. Some pale/pilsner malt character, add a touch of corny DMS, then unripe melon, bitter orang rind and dried grassy/woody hops. Finishes with a firm, somewhat unclean bitterness.
Not terrible, especially for one of these "private label" beers. With an everyday case price less that $50, itís decent value when not much else is on offer...otherwise happy to avoid.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
330ml stubbie. BB 03/04/2104. Poured a translucent golden amber with a thin off-white bubbly head that diminished quickly and laced OK. Medium carbonation with medium to large bubbles forming trails. Aroma mildly of floral/sweet hops as well as a touch of spice. Taste initially with minor malt sweetness quickly followed by a mild and pleasant hops bitterness. Light body with a watery mouthfeel. Light with a moderately long pleasant bitter finish. OK.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light gold pour with a quickly dissipating head, malty aroma with a little grapefruit but fairly light smell. Sweet, malty, very light thin flavour with just a touch of fruit. Just average

I like it, too many autralian breweries go way over the top when trying to imitate an american pale ale. This beer has a good aroma followed by a distinct taste thats still sessionable

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours golden amber colour. Almost no head. Hoppy aroma of grapefruit, a little caramel malt. Thin bodied. Not much taste. A little bitterness results in a clean finish. Refreshing, but not substantial.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle- Pours a deep golden color with a decent head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of malt sweetness and a bit of citrus and spice. Taste of Caramel sweetness with a touch of spice and bit of fruit in the background. Mild bitteriness and a clean finish. Fairly medium body, smooth and easy. Decent drinker but could use a bit more character.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
640ml bottle. A golden amber beer with a thin white head that persists. Honey malts on the nose with pineapple and grapefruit hoppy elements. Palate is rather thin for the style with medium sweet favours and a satisfactory hop bitterness. Itís okay but stick to Little Creatures pale ale for the best Aussie version of an APA.

There often seems to be a big difference in quality for the same beer. I suppose it depends on how old the brew is, how it has been stored and even where it has been brewed.
Reading the reviews of this beer I was wondering if we had all tried the same beer, because mine was highly carbonated and distinctly hoppy.
Perhaps I noticed the hop character because I donít like it very much. Some research suggests the hops are Citra, Ahtanum and Centennial hops - to me they tasted much like the hops in James squires 150 lashes, which I believe are Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo hops.
Although none of the above hops are favourites of mine, I found Atomic to be the most drinkable beer that uses them. I suspect the high carbonation cloaks them enough and the beer was very refreshing.
