Bottle. Pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aromas of grapefruit and malt. Has a dry taste. Heavy bitterness at the back end. Hops coming through. Actually pretty good better than I expected ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Could think of worse beers by the guys at Gage Roads, sweet caramel malt and slightly sour fruit notes underlined by medium carbonation and earthy hop bitterness.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2015 I recently got a case of this for the first time in awhile. I used to rate it as a bang for buck session beer but found it a bit wanting this time round, even in the $52 price range. I can really only give it an average rating. In this price range Id rather be drinking a Dundee IPA or something fairly generic like a Fat Yak.

From a bottle. Not the hoppiest IPA Ive had but still quite good, well worth a try if you like a mild sessionable one.

This is probably the best value beer in the country. A tasty beverage that you can pick up at every bottle shop. Aroma is pleasingly sweet and hoppy. Well balanced flavour ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

sm89walt (1780) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JUL 5, 2014
330ml bottle. Poured a clear, effervescent amber with copper hues and a creamy, lacing two-finger, mostly lasting off-white to light beige head. Caramel, biscuity and bready malts comprise a backbone and palate weight to characters of leafy hops and orange and citrus fruits. Finishes with a pithy, near-resinous and protracted bitterness and an aftertaste of dry earthy yeastiness. Medium body and medium carbonation working both to provide a crisp, firm and fresh palate texture making this a solid, refreshing quaffer. Fine with strong bitter hop qualities and adequate malt body but lacking a little fruit for balance.

Bottle: clear, copper color, light medium head and great lace. Caramel and a little funky skunky. More malt than hops. Rubbery hops. Sulphide blows off and the fruity caramel malted dominates. Dry, not sour and certainly bitter. Medium wieght and length. Opens with air. East coast style.

420 yen, 5.4% Bottle from a small liquor shop midway between the Sky Tree & Asakusa. Bought to get rid of that Virgo beers memory and due to the fact Ive never seen this "fine craft beer from Australia" in Japan before. Served in a mini Duvel type glass a deep orange-gold with a decent head & a fruity peppery nose with strong citrus & earthy notes - interesting. Medium to full bodied with a tongue scraping bitter mouthfeel - in a good way. The taste is again pretty different from IPAs I am used to, earthy, lemongrass, citrus, pepper & quite bitter. Pretty damn good, a pleasant surprise at a great price for Japan. Best before feb 2014 this must be a hoppy beast fresh.

BB 20/01/15. Poured a fairly clear golden amber colour with a one-finger off-white frothy head that retained OK and laced OK. Carbonation moderate with medium sized bubbles forming trails. Aroma of slightly sweet fruity hops but not overwhelming. Taste of slightly sweet caramel malt but this almost immediately dominated by a flavoursome hops bitterness. Light body. Quite nice with long bitter finish.

Pours a golden amber with bubbly white head. Slightly hoppy floral nose. Very biscuity, some toffee, slightly bitter, a little caramel, slight hop grapefruit. Not bad.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2014 Price point IPA, not nearly enough hops but nice full bitterness and amber colour if that means anything to you. 5.2 Alcohol good, not much noticeable aroma. For the price no complaints, probably would go for Vale IPA next time as better and only a little bit more costly. Way better than standard Aussie lagers tho. If you like coopers real ale you probably will like this
