4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 blackbock (100) - Shoalhaven NSW, AUSTRALIA - MAR 14, 2011
(bottle) Poured a light tan with creamy head. Up front sweet toffee and dark fruit flavours. A good whack of bitterness, but this is no mouth puckerer.
I love IPAs and this is a good one, but after being force-fed a Corona beforehand this was like an assault on my tastebuds. At 5.4% you have to watch this drinks on this one too.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ComradeK (731) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - JUN 4, 2011
330ml bottle. Pours a clear, darkish amber, with a medium off-white head, which lasts very well, leaving good lacing. It presents an alluring aroma of slightly oily pine hops, with a mild herbal undertone, supported by a touch of hazelnut. Abundant spicy grapefruit hops start it off, moving into a full-bodied nutty malt middle and a tangy herbal hop finish. A satisfying and generously-hopped IPA, and I must admit a pleasant surprise from the pet "craft" brewer of one of Australia’s largest supermarket chains.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Rosslew (35) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 26, 2011
Hint of coffee in taste and aroma. First taste gives impression of thick IPA but it is actually quite light. Did seem a bit fizzy but did retain a good head.

Taste of grapefruit, grain and some fruit with just a bit of malt sweetness. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Medium body, crisp and refreshing with a decent balance. Quite drinkable, hoped it would be a bit more robust. Nice offering for the style.
