Without a doubt one of the best India pale ales i have tasted. Only down side is the lack of head within 30 seconds all the head that remains is a slight bit of lacing. But does not dampen the mood at all. Great strong flavour with nice citrus bitterness. Many friends who have tried this and generally are anti IPA were quite open to this style of beer. A must try and good value.

330ml bottle. I was a bit disillusioned with Gage Roads recent offerings but this one hits the mark. Deep copper brown colour with a beige foam cap. Aroma is packed full of bready malty hops, along with caramel and toffee.Strong flavour that sits well in the mouth. Good finish and well balanced .

(bottle) Poured a light tan with creamy head. Up front sweet toffee and dark fruit flavours. A good whack of bitterness, but this is no mouth puckerer. I love IPAs and this is a good one, but after being force-fed a Corona beforehand this was like an assault on my tastebuds. At 5.4% you have to watch this drinks on this one too.

Bottle 330ml. Nice and malty. Aromas of caramel, butter, and honey. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and good length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a thin head.

Coppery brown colour with a red tinge. Thin creamy head that dissipates rather quickly. Toffee / caramel on the nose, quite pleasant. Nice, tart bitterness to the taste and an oaky after taste. Quite nice.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear, darkish amber, with a medium off-white head, which lasts very well, leaving good lacing. It presents an alluring aroma of slightly oily pine hops, with a mild herbal undertone, supported by a touch of hazelnut. Abundant spicy grapefruit hops start it off, moving into a full-bodied nutty malt middle and a tangy herbal hop finish. A satisfying and generously-hopped IPA, and I must admit a pleasant surprise from the pet "craft" brewer of one of Australia’s largest supermarket chains.

Hint of coffee in taste and aroma. First taste gives impression of thick IPA but it is actually quite light. Did seem a bit fizzy but did retain a good head. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

420 yen, 5.4% Bottle from a small liquor shop midway between the Sky Tree & Asakusa. Bought to get rid of that Virgo beer’s memory and due to the fact I’ve never seen this "fine craft beer from Australia" in Japan before. Served in a mini Duvel type glass a deep orange-gold with a decent head & a fruity peppery nose with strong citrus & earthy notes - interesting. Medium to full bodied with a tongue scraping bitter mouthfeel - in a good way. The taste is again pretty different from IPAs I am used to, earthy, lemongrass, citrus, pepper & quite bitter. Pretty damn good, a pleasant surprise at a great price for Japan. Best before feb 2014 this must be a hoppy beast fresh.
