3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled, 330ml from Burg Bieren, Ermelo, Netherlands. Clear gold with white head. Well, the old Bog Myrtle flavour then, must be the 3rd of these over the years. Can’t say that I noticed it that much, the beer was crisp, lemony, a tad sweetish with a Belgian yeasty spiciness. A pretty decent beer overall.

Got this from a organic supermarket in Antwerp. This is a beer made/trough natuurpunt (a organisation welfare of nature and animals in Flanders).
This beer, looks very nice. Golden colour, hazy, nice froppy head. Nice floral smell, with a small hint of a sweet hops. Flavore is very herbal, soft with a slide of bitter aftertast. texture kinda biscuity. Very easy drinkable, very nice :-)

Stubby boy at Bar Jules, SF. Bog myrtle? Holy shit, it’s like I’m doing alchemy in the Elder Scrolls. Anyways, novelty ingredient aside this was a tough beer to get through. Nice straw gold pour, and I had hopes (I admit being enticed by the Proef) that this would be a fine dry Belgian strong to complement the excellent food. But no, it was a weird autumnal extract kind of brew, with an overpowering syrupy element at its core that made it halfway to mead but without the merits of either good mead or good ale.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Medium white head on top of a deeper hazy yellow colored beer.
Smell spices, hint of cloves, orange, old candy, flowers, hops and a hint of malt.
Taste is nice pretty full fruity and spicy with hints of malts, yeast medium bitter and some light sweets. The fruityness and spices are well balanced.
Aftertaste of bitter fruity spicy.
Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a light creamy texture.

Bottle @ de Paas. Now this is something else. As soon as the bottle opened the aroma of bog and heath started coming towards me. Great, full aroma. Hazy golden colour with a white , loose bubbly head. Flavour has some honey sweetness. No maltiness detected, some hops are present. Medium bitter finish.

Tap at Paradiso Georgetown. Poured a clear, straw yellow with a decent white head. Cidery, baked yellow apple nose with huge medicinal overtones like children’s cough syrup and big time sweet white grape juice box. Extremely sweet white grape juice concentrate. Taste is sprtizy, white grape juice box, tons of sugary children’s juice box. Gets to be a bit cloying.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Wellington Arms, Bedford. Gold with a large white head. Fishy, yeasty aroma. Very slight background malty sweetness in the taste, but there’s a bit of sour, soapy, earthy artisanale harshness and a faint dry finish. No idea what bog myrtle tastes like. Sat outside for this one, which probably increased my appreciation of it.
