3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap - rusty orange with a medium head and a wall of lacing on the glass. Strong hop aroma and an orange/grapefruit hop taste as well as some orange peel. Decently bitter. I liked it! Not a west coast hop bomb but good as far as Canada goes.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by solidfunk at the DC Summer Saison & Sour Tasting, 7/12/14. Pours a clear copper color with a thin white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of cinnamon(?), caramel malt, floral hops. The taste is bitter hops, caramel and biscuit malt. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness. Yay new province (or is that a territory?) tick!

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
My Bottom Line:
Muddled hop resins scent this drinkable, but barely passable IPA.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the cloudy amber.
-Hops smell and taste tired even though this brew is supposed to be fresh.
-Malts are also poorly defined.
-Mouthfeel is lean and bubbly.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at The Gahan House as part of the sampler.
Pours a slightly hazy deep chestnut color with a smallish white head.
Aromas of earthy citrus hops and a light crackery bready caramel maltiness.
The flavor is bitter and resinous with a solid shot of caramel maltiness behind it.
Decent IPA but it relies more on harsh bitterness than smooth hop flavor.

Said fuck it and got a full glass despite a deep feeling that it was not worth it. Options were limited. Nice looking pour. Caramelly and sweet nose that lacks any complexity, more sweet peach / rrgf blend on the candy side. Gotta smell deep. After a long sit this gained a bit of citrus yet retained the caramel portion. Average bitterness that mostly fades. Averageish ish ish.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Nice aroma of tangerine and berries. The colour is somewhat unusual for an IPA. Good malt and hop flavour however the bittering hops could be scaled down a few IBU’s. An average beer that could be a great beer with a few adjustments.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This is very different from other IPA’s i have had and not in a good way. There is something off putting about it. It has decent mouth feel and dark amber colour, but it almost taste like the hops are off. The bitterness is under control and is almost refreshing at the end. It feels like the hops are a little rancid and not very fresh. Not a bad IPA, but not a great example either.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
I live in Charlottetown, had this many a time and it seems to keep getting worse, As far as looks go it is somewhat dark for the style and seems overly heady as well, more akin to an IIPA but without the flavour. It has a decent mouthfeel, not too thick/oily and not too watery as I find most of PEIBC/Gahan’s other lighter offerings. Flavour is mostly sweet, slightly caramel maltiness with a light trace of floral hops. Too sweet and not hoppy enough for my IPA tastes.
