This is very different from other IPA’s i have had and not in a good way. There is something off putting about it. It has decent mouth feel and dark amber colour, but it almost taste like the hops are off. The bitterness is under control and is almost refreshing at the end. It feels like the hops are a little rancid and not very fresh. Not a bad IPA, but not a great example either.

I live in Charlottetown, had this many a time and it seems to keep getting worse, As far as looks go it is somewhat dark for the style and seems overly heady as well, more akin to an IIPA but without the flavour. It has a decent mouthfeel, not too thick/oily and not too watery as I find most of PEIBC/Gahan’s other lighter offerings. Flavour is mostly sweet, slightly caramel maltiness with a light trace of floral hops. Too sweet and not hoppy enough for my IPA tastes.

A nice solid IPA. Nothing interesting or unusual, just a straightforward and standard IPA. Nose was a bit light but consisted mostly of citrus and sweet malt. Flavor was malt upfront with a decent bitterness at the end. Medium bodied. Nothing groundbreaking but good.

Thanks northropfrye. Pours a lovely hazy orange with amazing marshmallow head. Nice honey and mango aromas. Malty sweet flavors with an underwhelming bitterness. Nice stuff from PEI.

August 2013 bottle so not the freshest but I finally got my PEI tick. High carbonation. Orange body foamy white head. Tropical fruit nose. Not vey bitter. Okay.

Pale amber-orange pour. Thick white head. The aroma is pretty lovely - a soft spicy/fruity hop nose. Some orange peel and a bit of toffee in addition to some fairly rich hoppiness. Assertive bitterness but well balanced. Quite a lovely brew actually. Its neither overly fruity or overly dank but is quite pleasant in its balance.

Bottle (500 ml). Shared by minderbinder, thanks! Slightly hazy amber with a small/medium beige head and some lacing. Aroma is of malt, caramel, spices, soap and a light off-flavor of bile. Taste is almost the same with a light bitter finish. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Too soapy and malty. Not easily drinkable. Weak.
