COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beach Chair Lager is the first canned craft beer ever produced in Atlantic Canada.

An ode to malt and hops, our approachable craft lager is made with only top quality Canadian Pilsner malts, spicy European noble hops, and lager yeast. After lengthy cold-conditioning, the resulting clean character allows the malt and hops to sing out! Grab a chair and sing along.

Can (courtesy of Travlr, huge thanks). Light lemon and barley malt aroma. Pale yellow with moderate head and nice lacing. Lightly sweet barley malt and mildly bitter hay flavor. No off flavors - pleasant but standard.

Something odd about the taste of this slightly hazy Light beer. An astringency and harshness that shouldn’t be there. Couldn’t put my finger on it, but it wasn’t refreshing.

Draft at the source. Clear golden color, huge white head with good retention and solid lacing. Nice peppery aroma. Taste is lemony straw. Tasty and easy drinking.

(1153-290714)

Poured from a can. Quick-Rising sudsy head that dissipates rather quickly. Clear golden color, some lacing. Not a fan of lager in general -- a bit skunky -- but this wouldn’t be bad on a hot day.

On tap at The Gahan House as part of the sampler. Pours a mostly clear pale golden color with a smallish white head. Aromas of light sweet bready malt with hints of spicy floral hop. Flavor follows the aroma. Decent enough lager, but nothing horribly complex.

The commercial description should of stopped at pure PEI water, because you don’t really notice much else. Slightly better than macro lagers, but I guess it has its gimmick going for it. It reminded me of a cheap champagne that has been watered down even more. It probably does well as it is sold at our most touristy beach.

Pretty boring, inoffensive in every way. Basically a homebrew tasting version of a typical big beer lager. That explains the popularity. Grainy and slightly corny tasting with little hops. The malt is pretty bland hay and cereal. It’s a thin, somewhat watery beer with good marketing. Not awful, just not good and not what PEI’s primary brewery should be focusing on when they have many similar beers.

Poured from a can. Clear golden color, small white head. Mild hops and grain aroma. Medium malt and hops flavor with a mild finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
