[3859-20110805] Tap. Mild shoe leather aroma. Clear, dark amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Toasted caramelized bark flavour with a long sweet aftertaste. Medium-full body. Interesting. (6-/3/7/3/13) 3.2

Draft in a sampler at The Gahan House. Pours a semi-cloudy brown color with a small beige head. Aroma of toasted malts, leather, earth, and grapes. Flavor of toasted malts, earth, rust, leaves. Light-medium bodied, with a toasty, earthy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Something like fruit skins and metal creeps in. Feels restrained for a brown ale.

Amber/mahogany colour with a thin white head. Roasted coffee, caramel flavour with a pleasant bitter finish.

Three day old hand-me-down growler, about a third left, so maybe not at it’s peak. Thanks to Nick for bringing it back. Ignoring the flatness, which was a product of a too old growler and not Gahan in any way, the taste holds up pretty well. Roasty malts with some chocolate and nuttiness, maybe even a little smoke. Colour was a deep brown tinged with red. Palate was a little thin and I think it would have been even fresh. Overall, thumbs up.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BuckeyeBoy (2147) - Boise, Idaho, USA - DEC 16, 2010
On tap at Gahan House brewpub, PEI. Pours out a dark brown topped with a small head. Aroma was of roast malts, nuts, some sweetness, and a touch of hops. Taste was much the same with the sweetness and roast malts standing out overall.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Slacks (615) - Bolton, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 2, 2010
Draught @ Gahan House, Charlottetown, PE: Listed now as "Ironhorse Brown", but I assume it to be the same beer. Solid brown pour, whispy white head. Actually a nice, roasty and sweet aroma. Shocking to smell something nice after the first four I tried. Taste is quite nice with honey, anise and chocolate. This is a surprise, a reasonable and tasty beer.

Yeah, medium-bodied with some hoppage. A standard brown ale that’s fairly mild. Bit sweet with LOTS of roastiness.

dark brown appearance. strong malt aromas. close to a full-bodied beer with lots of roasted flavors. I thought this tasted much closer to a porter than a brown ale. probably the best of the Gahan line.

Nutty, appropriately bitter, Not perfectly balanced or well bodied but one of the better beers at the brewpub
