UPDATED: JAN 28, 2007 Cinnamon, brown sugar and caramel all on the nose followed by a solid dose of hops in the mouth and on the finish. Really enjoyed this one. 2007: -On tap at East Side Marios this one was amped up with hops, at least compared to everything else available on the island. It was a hoppy island in a hopless ocean.

500ml bottle, 5.3% a/v Pours a light brown/red with a decent tan head. Very malty aroma with notes of chocolate and nuts, taste is nutty and malty as well, some toasted malt flavour on the palate. This is a pretty good one!

Bottle - 500ml. Nice dark amber body with an average off-white creamy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with grainy hints. Taste carries grainy, bready, and some subtle herbal notes. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Not bad at all.

500 ml bottle via Candice (thanks), served cold in a tulip glass. 07SE12.

App.: Clear deep copper with a decent light tan head. Aroma: Quite earthy, lightly fruity caramel, a touch of toffee, a touch tangy, stark and British, maybe a touch ashen, hints of berries, a little roasty. Palate: Medium body, medium-full effervescence with some prickly bubbles. Flav.: Fairly earthy, stern, British malts, berry-like fruitiness, a bit roasty, a little stark caramel/toffee, minerals,. A touch of earthy hops; dry with fair bitterness and a lightly fruity finish.

Seems well-made, but doesn’t appeal to my tastes.

roma is one of beer’s most complex features. Aroma is propelled by lively CO2 and dampened by pillowy heads - especially nitrogen foam. Click on a term below to add it to your tasting notes.

On tap at brewpub, pours a clear red color with a white head that leaves a nice lace. There isn’t much smell other than some hints of caramel and pale malts. Taste is of caramel and cereal with a nice bitterness at the end. Great flavor.

500ml bottle. Pours a beautiful brown-red body, cognac style, medium crème brûlée head, not much of a retention. Aroma is on the sweet side: caramel, cheese, roasted malt, some wet basement. The taste is much better: caramel-cereal sweetness, bitter herbal hops, summer flowers, some breadiness. Creamy texture, average finish, soft carbonation.

500 ml bottle from Alcool NB Liquor. Pours a clear but somewhat dark reddish brown with small off-white head. Aroma is toasty caramel and some light dark fruit. Flavour is toasty caramel and grains with some mild plum/raisin character. Somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Decent.

An ok amber. Malt comes in with some vanilla and caramel, maybe some dark fruit like plums. Medium thickness in the mouth with medium carbonation. Some very light bitterness in the finish.
