500 ml bottle from the PEILC. Pours reddish amber in colour, with large frothy off white head. Aroma and taste are a nice balance of malt, slightly roasted and a mild hop. Pretty decent red ale.

An ok amber. Malt comes in with some vanilla and caramel, maybe some dark fruit like plums. Medium thickness in the mouth with medium carbonation. Some very light bitterness in the finish.

Draft in a sampler at The Gahan House. I see this is starting to get some ratings now that it’s in bottles. Nice. Pours a nice, clear amber color with a small off-white ring. Aroma is fairly weak, with faint malts, toast, and grains. Flavor of grass, bitter earth, toasted malts, and some mixed fruit and citrus peel. Distinctly different and more complex than the aroma. Light-bodied, with a surprisingly bitter mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Not overly bitter, just in comparison to the nose and expectations. Okay amber ale.

500ml bottle. Pours clear dark amber with fairly minimal eggshell head that leaves a little lace. Hmm....there’s a lot of butterscotch and vinegar on the nose. I’m sensing infection, but maybe not. A lot of the vinegar blows off after some vigorous swirling (Tripel Karmeliet glass) and it’s dominantly caramel now. nice velvety texture on the palate with a lot of caramel and a hint of that vinegar feel. The finish is not especially bitter at all. It really wafts off on a slow rolling caramel roller coaster. All and all pretty boring...and possibly infected a little.

500ml bottle from PEILC. Reddish brown colour with a fair sized beige head, which disappeared quickly leaving some off-white lacing. Aroma was caramel malts, taste is caramel malt without being too sweet with a bitter finish. Palate was medium bodied and dry. Overall, a solid red/amber ale.

500mL bottle, courteous of uhlan (thanks Gerry), pours amber with a beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, maple syrup and slight citrus. Flavour is on the sweet side, with caramel, maple syrup, counteracted nicely with citrus hops. Solid amber.

On tap at Gahan House brewpub, PEI. Pours out a copper/amber topped with a sand head. Aroma was of light caramel malts, light hop notes, and some nuts. Taste was much the same with the sweet malts leading the way. Not too bad actually.
