MoritzF (3883), Ruhrpott, Germany May 10, 2008 (33cl bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a mid-sized foamy white head. Sweet grainy, almost a bit bready malty nose with a tinge of honey-fruity sourness and light herbal hoppy notes. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a slightly fizzy carbonation. Grainy, malt-accented, doughy taste with low to moderate herbal accents; dry-ish, slightly bitter and faint hoppy finish. Drinkable but not overly convincing “Pilsener” (09.05.08).
Quack-Duck (1906), Bodensee, Germany Jun 29, 2007 bottle, brought to me by a friedn who lives in Gaildorf. Golden colour, large head. Malt-accented, though quite hoppy pilsener with hints of grain and honey. Full-bodied, very long finish and extremely long and pleasant aftertaste.
