3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DeanF (1489) - Iqaluit, - AUG 31, 2010
One thing about beer hunting in France is that every farm, every town, has its own brew that almost no one’s ever heard of outside of that tiny little spot. Many of these are brewed in incredibly small batches, and you never know when you’ll find them again. Found this at a farm outside of Paris, at their shop, in a 750ml bottle. Nice blonde colour, excellent head on top. Hops, hay, some malts on the nose. Taste is a mix of grass, malt, caramel, alcohol. Actually a good mix of bière de garde tastes, quite strong and a very good example of the style.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Slayer85 (872) - Firenze, ITALY - MAY 12, 2010
750 ml corked bottle. A hazy dark golden beer with an average sized, frothy, modtly, almost full diminishing white head. The aroma is lightly to moderately malty, lightly to moderately hoppy, lightly yeasty with notes of toasted grains, flowers, herbs, lemon, honey. The flavour is moderately sweet, lightlly sour, lightly bitter. Medium body, lively to fizzy carbonation, long finish with medium bitterness. Very interesting aroma, although, not very strong, too carbonated and one dimensional in the mouth, but overall nice.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 dornoy (694) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 8, 2005
White head on a gold yellow body. I tried it on a hot summer day and I was very pleased. This is a very refreshing brew and I only regret this beer is not exported to Denmark where I live. Altogether, I am ready to drink it again any time.

In my top 5! A golden yellow, with a full flavour of fruit, wheat, and herbs.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Crosling (1861) - Loveland, Colorado, USA - OCT 4, 2004
This was such a neat beer to be able to try. I sampled this on the back of a bus traveling from Fontainbleau, France to Dijon, France. I bought the beer at a small wine shop in central Fontainbleau and even got a free glass with the brew. Courpalay, where the beer is brewed, is a small village Northeast of Fontainbleau.
Yellowish Brown.
Nice nose with hints of lemon, wheat grass, hay, flowers, tangerines and various herbs.
Lovely, splendid fruit flavors, especially tangerine and pear. Finish has a hint of honey dew, mixed nuts and a lingering, yeasty and fruity deliciousness.
