COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Galbraith’s Antipodean NZPA has big base of juicy malt with piercing bitterness, intense aroma from dry hopping with unique Southern Cross hops and a reasonable, but not crippling, 5% alcohol.

On cask @ Galbraiths’, Auckland. New Zealand holiday 2011-12. Old notes. The aroma has aprikots, some citrus. Clear, copper coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is slightly toasty, has ’malty aprikots’ , some berriess. Very clean mouthfeel.

The head is ok, the body orange. It smells sweet, malty, crispy. The taste is malty, hoppy, crispy, refreshing. Ok 11/12/11/11/11/11

Cask handpull at the source. Clear golden color, whitebhead. Aroma of toasted caramel. Taste is similar.

Galbraith’s Alehouse, Auckland. Poured a clear golden orange with a fine, almost non-existent white head. Lovely fragrant citric ands mid-fruits on the nose along with a fresh floral component. Good grapefruit, subtle resin, lemon pith, marmalade and some tail end yeastiness. A bright and fresh mouthfeel with a light effervescence, light to medium body and a dry, enduring green hop finish. Clean and super quaffable. What a lot of golden ales strive for but miss the mark. A most satisfying pint and something that I could happily sink in volume.

Very much an old school style; subtle malts and hops, low fizz and served ’warm’. Minerally hops creat quite a broad mouthfeel and it’s not miles away from the Munich lager. Lacks excitement but points for authenticity.

Light amber, cask head, aroma has some woody character. Tastes woody, caramelly, toasty. Nice acidity in the finish. Another strong contender.

On tap at the brewpub. Served a copper color with a decent head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of citrus and some malt sweetness and fresh grain. Taste of citrus and bit of malt sweetness and a hint of fruit in the background. Good bitterness and a dry finish. medium body, crisp and flavorful. Nice Bbalance. Enjoyable Cask conditioned ale.

copper color, earthy light fruity apricots, very much focused on the malt backbone but again too sweet.

Tasted at Galbraiths in Auckland, along with the rest of the range that day. A lovely example of NZ hops in an English recipe that kinda comes out as a U.S. pale, and all in a good way. This was (IMO) the closest in style to many modern i.e. US, ales and damn nice it was.

Appear a lovely clear amber-gold with a white head that slowly sank into the glass. Predominant aromas are of malt with tangerine citrus coming through and some grassy hop character. Again with the tangerine flavours upon tasting with a good amount of bitterness provoking the sides of the tongue. A tasty wee critter, but my only beef is that it lacked a little body. A pleasant session pint though.
