Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Brown colour, lasting off white head. Not much aroma. Some soft hop and yeast and soft fruit. Some almost spice in the flavour which carries in onto the finish. Very good condition. Some hop sting on finish. Very drinkable. OK bitter.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Amber to brown with white head. Nice little light, tasty bitter that pushes all the session ale buttons. Light on the palate with a fresh, slightly oily hop flavour, some citrus, lemony notes and a forgiving, malty, biscuity body. We all liked it.

A Mes rate. Cask at Baker Street ’Sporks.
Copper coloured with a slim off white head. Fairly straight forward stuff. Clean and drinkable. Slightly earthy on the malt, nicely citric and dry on the hops. Pretty decent.

Cask conditioned handpump Cordwainer Northampton An amber coloured beer with a lasting whitish head and lacing. The aroma has nice hoppy berry notes. Smooth fruity and tasty with good hops and more berry notes again. A good beer.

Cask, The Highcross, Leicester. Amber with a small head. Aromas are cream and tea with light fruit and caramel. Flavours are very peppery and dry with tea. Hints of citrus with light malts. Not much going on but OK.

Cask at The Penny Black, Bicester, Oxon, 07-11-09 Pours mid amber. This came across as a typical British Bitter, crisp bitterness, nice bite, easy drinking, slightly dry at end, enjoyable and a good accompaniment to my large breakfast that I failed once again to complete. A6 A4 F6 P3 Ov12 3.1

The Baron. Still amber brown with a slim level collar, glass milky white with lace. Pleasant opening wash of fruit; apple, orange, maybe strawberry merging into a soft lingering cashew maltiness. Sultanas and warm buttered toast. Picking up some herbal, grassy hop and almond as it drains. Gentle, silky, insinuating..Englishness. Very pleasant little lunchtime sessions.

JDW Rochester. Clean and fruity. Leen. Some sweetness and a vague bitterness at the end reminiscent of Czech lager, but also with a juicy pineapple note. Mildly interesting - would need to drink several times to discover how much I actually like this, as it is fairly subtle.
