COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A golden beer with a burst of citrusy hop flavor paired with a solid malt backbone. Aromas of pine and citrus are prevalent due to dry-hopping with Cascade and Amarillo hops. This IPA leaves a pleasant bitterness lingering on the palate from the generous kettle additions of Galena hops.

Growler. Pours a dark, lightly hazy gold with an amber core. Aroma is planty, citrus and pine hops with some toasty, cereal grain malts and light mineral notes. Flavor is husky grain, toasted malt, sweet caramel and toast right away, toffee comes in with the planty, spicy and citrus hops. Some alcohol comes out as it warms, but isn’t really that noticeable until it’s pretty warm. Finishes with buttery toffee and a surprising (considering the sweetness up front) hop bitterness on the fade. Palate is creamy up front, moderately carbonated and has an off dry, slightly oily finish. Solid IPA overall, could definitely use a little less crystal malt and a little more citrus presence, but I dig the hop profile it has.

Poured from a bottle bought from the brewery a medium gold orange, fairly clear with short head and a solid lasting froth with bits of decending lacing. Aroma seems pretty herbal, but almost corn like or kind of vegetale.Maybe from the yeast?Almost could be dms. Also some citrus and sweet malt. flaovr is hoppy with herbalness, carmel malt sweetness ,spice citrus, the same vegatable taste maybe yeast,Good overall tasting though.Nice citrus malty sweentness with a good bittering finish. Again i liked this on tap better, didnt have that vegetable, cornishness, and had more hop aroma. Maybe was a fresh tap or new batch, but definatly check out this brewery if in the area, they even let you mix up bottles to take home.A very nice brewpub setup as well. Had the flight sampler all 8( except two) were excellent, didnt care as much for the paradox,or amber, the wee heavy was incredible, as well as the chocolate stout. This is the best brewery in the area, sorry Potosi.

On tap at the Great Taste of the Midwest. Subdued soapy aroma with a touch of citrus. Slightly bitter malty flavor with a bit of hop, but generally a huge meh.

From a 12oz bottle I bought at Family Liquor.
The beer pours an orange color with a small head that fades away relatively quickly.

The aroma displays some nice floral and herbal hop character but comes across as a tad bit faint.

The flavor is sort of sweet, but not really in a sticky caramel-y way, it’s pretty well balanced with a moderate bitterness and lots and lots of juicy, fruit forward hop flavor.

Great to see that this brewery is getting better, I’ll be buying more of their stuff next time I’m in this neck of the woods.

Fresh on tap today at the brewery. Review from written notes, scoring to style Deep saturated orange color, fairly bright and clear. Sticky collar of white foam that leaves some lacing on the way down. Herbal and citrusy hop smell, dried orange peel from the Cascade and Amarillo. Moderately bitter with some citrus and caramel notes. Dry resiny finish. Meduim bodied, approaching a DIPA in terms of the abv range (7.5%), which was thankfully hidden. Pretty tasty, could be a little more aromatic and punchy with the hops. Bartender said they ran out for a week or two recently due to a scarce hop supply... better stockpile! Reviewed on: 08-04-2011

Thirsty Troll Beer Fest. Pour is orange-gold with a creamy eggshell head. Aroma shows a cornucopia of hop goodness with notes of tropical fruit, citrus, and light pine. Flavor shows basically the same with a large dose of toffee to support it. Overall body is moderate, dry, and finishes moderately bitter.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours hazy brass with whitish head. The aroma is slightly buttery with some tropical fruit and maybe some honey. The flavor is cotton candy, deep crystal sweetness, and some fruity hops. There is more hop flavor than aroma. Bitterness is mellow. Tasty.

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2011 Poured to my SA lager glass from a gift growler brought back from the brewery by neighborhood friends. Displayed a hazed, orange/amber hue, with billowy, off white/cream, fairly lasting head foam, and good cling to the curtains & ribbons of lacing. The aroma was pungent, resiny notes to start, with citrus as white grapefruit, followed by a hint of estery sweetness. The flavor notes were as the aroma, with no sweetness this time. Aggressive hopping dominated the malt with a potent, very dry, and "lingering through the finish" bitterness. Medium bodied and showed some alcohol warmth as it settled. Almost a bit overpowering as a definite hop force.
