Bottle .Pours red brown with almost no head.Aroma is dark berries,bready malt,alcohol and wood.Flavor is sweet malt,alcohol, berries,alcohol and bread.Full bodt,soft carbonation.Smooth and nice beer.

02’ bottle from shigadeyo. Hazy medium brown, completely flat. Very vinous aroma, sherry/port, tons of alcohol. flavor has some oxidized caramel up front, huge alcohol burn. Oily thin mouthfeel.

Bottle (2002)… Cloudy brown ale with no head. Regarding the aromatics, dried plum, vanilla and caramel really stand out with only a conservative splash of soy sauce. Full-bodied with no carbonation. Flavors of dried plum, singed caramel, dark fallen fruits and light tanginess. Finishes tangy and a touch salty. Bottle courtesy of jtclockwork!

Jet black tar pour. Very sweet and woody nose. Taste is pine, cedar, molasses and sweet finish. Rated 3/16/03

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Pours a clear amber color with no head whatsoever. The aroma is sweet and malty with ample ripe fruits or pretty much what I would expect an 8 year old barleywine to smell like. The flavor is more of the same: big sweet caramel malts, ripe fruits, prunes, vanilla and signs of oxidation. This is thin for the flavors with no carbonation. I did not have this fresh, but this seems to have held up pretty well.

Deep red-ruby color, no head. Strawberry, cut grass, smokey wood, fruit sugar in the nose - what a mix. Liquerish palate. Sweet berries, strong wine (Finnish Gambina), some sourness, lots of Madeira wine and Moscatel. Excellent dessert wine ... err .. beer I mean. Aged very well, doesn’t feel like 12% anymore.

Amber of color with no head. An aroma of raisins and port - oxydised. A flavor that is oxydised with raisins and oily.

Bottle. Pours a hazy light brown. No head. Aroma is oxydised, malty and with milky notes. Same flavour, but also a bit sour. This hasn’t aged well. Yuck. 26-09-09.
