UPDATED: APR 9, 2006 Intense, still cider of multiple fruit…Acid yeast and dusty caramel do not embellish this moment…Chaotic and corky...Am I a victim of Gale’s mini-cork once again?...And again?...And again?...

Smell and taste of burnt rotten apples.Zero head or carbonation. Try Lees or Hardys instead.Gets my vote as the worst barley wine ever. Glad its retired,it will save at lot of agony.

Stine (1399) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - JUN 8, 2007
Vintage 2002, apparently. Thick mahogany body with no head, violently poured. Plain raisin aroma hints at cinnamon sweetbread before alcohol arrives in a sterilizing fury. Hot and intense. Some chestnut, fruitcake tones and bonfire flavors, massively pruney and pungent. Completely flat palate, highly alcoholic, bitter and wet. Offensively oxidized. Long since dead. Poured it.

Poured real friggin flat. Hazy brown with an orange hue. Vinous, malty ,oxydized nose. Med/full body. Malty sweet somewhat acrid flavor. Finish is dry, funkaaay. No more Gale products for me.

No carbonation, no head, cloudy dull brown colour. Plum/raisin/sider aroma, quite sweet. Flavours much the same, cloying, alcohol bite - virtually undrinkable. Must have been a dodgy bottle, looking at the rest of the ratings...

9.3 oz. bottle. Completely uncarbonated. Sweet, wine-like, sharp, sour smell features grape, raisin, vinegar, plum, and apple cider scents. Pours a clear, bright copper with no head. Looks like tea, not beer. I was tempted to give it a 1 for appearance, but I’ll be generous. Bitter, slightly sour, salty taste features chocolate and mud/rocks/minerals flavors. Strange, dirty, offputting aftertaste. Completely flat. Medium body. Close to a drain pour. I’m sure this is not how it’s supposed to taste. I used the second half of the bottle for cooking.

well.. To be honest I am scared to drink this one. It does look very weird in the class and with the research I have done this beer is 7 years old.... Smells musty and high in alcohol, some earth tones and wood. Pours a very hazy and cloudy and chunky pale brown with no head at all. Has a funny light body with no carbonation. Taste like MRs. Dash seasoning salt. this is like a a ranch dip packet. I find this hard to believe that this was beer at one time.. WOW.... .it might be drain poor.. "

Bottle. Pours a hazy light brown. No head. Aroma is oxydised, malty and with milky notes. Same flavour, but also a bit sour. This hasn’t aged well. Yuck. 26-09-09.
