4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 henrikb (1258) - Aarhus, DENMARK - APR 24, 2007
The most beautiful deep clear amber orange body with a big bubbled lasting beige head; Very fine and elegant well developed mature nose, quite a bit of woody, horsey apple-like Brett aromas backed by fruity notes of dry Sherry; Small amount of pleasant sharp carbonation on soft textured body, very balanced, deep and complex, fresh salty and slightly sour; It evolves into a big and very long finish, again as complex and well developed as it gets, the salty sourness stands out pleasantly and lasts forever, with lots of ripe and green apple sour aromas and sherry like wood notes. What a very, very great beer, one of the finest and most elegant I ever had - Thanks a billion to Kramer17801!
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 UnionMade (621) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 29, 2002
Very nice. Very wine like in texture and mouthfeel. Deep umber color, with no head at all. No carbonation. Strong alcohol aroma, with a bit of roast. Very smooth finish, malt and hops are indistinguishable it’s so well balanced. A perfect beer if you’re into this stuff.

Similar to the POA in its rich fruitiness, smooth malt palate, silky finish and undeniable complexity.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 hotstuff (3249) - Indiana, USA - MAR 2, 2004
Bottle. When poured, this beer formed a small sized tan head with fine-small sized bubbles that quickly dissipated. The body was hazy, carbonated with a somewhat copper hue. The nose was sweet, spicy and definitely alcohol. The flavor was caramel and alcohol tasting. The mouthfeel was tingly and this was a medium bodied beer with sparse lacing.

Hazy orange brown. Usual GGC sour, woody, alcohol nose. Sweet, raisons, toffee, butterscotch, vanilla, cherry, great woodiness all the way through. Signature Gale's sweet sour woody finish, lightly hopped. I am ever impressed with brews from this producer.

The unique acidic/sour and sweet flavors of this brew are nicely balanced by its crispness.

nuffield gives me a place to sleep that has AC, feeds me, and shares good beer with me. i hope no one ever tells him what a piece of crap i am. thanks for everything patrick. tan color with a couple of bubbles for a head. amazing complex aroma of cherry, lactic, vanilla, plastic, amazing. taste is fruity, vinous, strawberry, liht chocolate. slight sour, would be better with some carbonation, but still, this is good. the slightly acidic nature of this is great. i’m in your debt patrick.

Draft: Brownish red in color, with a thick head. Alcohol definitely present in the aroma, with an almost champaign-like aroma. Flavor is fruity, slightly sweet, smooth, with a clean finish. Rather like red wine. Pretty carbonated.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 thedm (4126) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 1, 2004
This bottled and corked brew poured a medium sized mostly diminishing head of finely sized off-white colored bubbles that left behind a good lacing. The body is a hazy semi-transparent brown color with no visible carbonation. The aroma could be smelled from a foot away. It was very vinuous, port like and very much like a strong ale. The mouth feel is initially smooth then kicks in with a stong vinuous componet that leads to a more mildly vinuous mild brown beer aftertaste mixed with a little caramel. The flavor is pretty well hidden by the vinuous aspects of the mouth feel but once you get past the strong ale aspects, there is caramel malt and mild cinnamon.
