Pours a dark amber almost ruby color, topped with a fairly small off-white head. Malty aroma, some dark fruity notes and some quite strong alcohol notes. Taste starts with some sweetness, follwed by fruity and caramle notes and strong alcohol presence. Not really my favourite. Too boozy and too sweet.

Bottle at a big tasting (NŲrdprovning 2015). Iím not sure of the age of this bottle. Smell of dried fruit. Similar taste with raisins. No carbonation. Not as flavourfull as expected.

Bottle (50 cl). Clear mahogny, bbrief beige head. Dried fruits, raisins and plums, with some wooden notes. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Semid dry, low to medium bittterness, low acidity.

Bottle. Pours murky mahogany, minimal head or lacing. Aroma is sherry, some toffee, tart oak. Flavor is quite sweet, a tiny bit of tartness, light plus bitterness, lots of sherry and wood flavors, tons of maltiness, a bit odd. Fullish body, creamy mouthfeel. Interesting for sure.

2008 version from the London Pride store in Ljubljana, Slovenia, shared with heavy and ogivlado. Poured an amber-brown body with a small slightly off whtie head that went away slowly. Sweet malty nose, raisins and alcohol. Sweet taste, raisins, fruity, some cola? Yup, sweet. Didnít think it was nearly as complex as the 2005 Galeís version. 6/4/6/3/14.

Poured flat orangey brown. Almost no carbonation. Vinegar, booze, wood. Mediocre maybe a bad batch.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2015 I usually enjoy old ales but Iím not sure if I got a bad bottle or what. Completely flat, intense aroma of dried fruit booze, malt and old wood. Not comforting old bookshelf kind of wood but basement shelving. Taste of booze wood, malt, dried fruit and soy sauce. Iím going to have to try this again and hopefully I just got an bad bottle.Serving: Bottle

500ml bottle from Alko Arkadia

2011 vintage - Pours dark brown with a bubbly white head. Aroma of sweet syrup, malts, hints of ripe fruits, caramel and toffee. Taste is sweet, sugary and malty with notes of alcohol, hints of ripe fruits, raisins, caramel and toffee. Finish is smooth, sweet and malty with notes of syrup. Quite balanced, but a bit too sweet old ale.

Bottle 0,50L (2011 version). Dark brown colour, small beige head. Aroma is mix of chocolate, molasses, roasted malt, blueberries, cherries, slightly parfumed and some Port. Full bodied, creamy, sweet at the start, aftertaste is somewhere between acidic and bitter. Alcohol is present in taste, but itís not overhelming. Vaery good beer!
