Cask (handpump) at the Mad Bishop & Bear, Paddington Station on 1 May 2009. Only scooped this because I was dying to empty my bladder on returning from Reading and didnít want to pay the station toilet fees. Clean gold colour. Sweetish with a little caramel. Some soft bitterness on the finish. A quite plain, if fairly pale, bitter - palatable but not very exciting.

Cask. A golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of matl and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and spices of some sort I canít put a name to, leading to a dry finish.

Cask at Old Bank, Turku. Slightly hazy copper color. Biscuity and nutty aroma. Fruity-vinous, biscuity and bitter taste. Salty licorice and toasted malt in finish. Feels a bit watery but still quite nice and drinkable.

Cask at the Argyll Arms. Clear amber-honey pour with basically no head. Bready malt aroma with some caramel and toffee. Lightly sweet, malty and bready with dry, grassy bitterness. Light bodied with light carbonatio. Bitter, dry finish with plenty of bread. So so.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber with a small white head. Faint malt aroma. Grainy malt taste. Mid bitter finish. Absolutely standard generic English regional brewery bitter. And I quite liked it.

Cask at the Coach House, Chester. Poured an orange gold with a medium head. Aroma was orange pithy hops. Had an orange start and a fruity malt finish. Very thin and watery.

Cask at Fullerís Hock Cellar in Chiswick. Pours orange with a light hop and toasty malt aroma. Flavor is similar -- some toasted malt with light bitterness and some bready notes. Light body -- seems a bit thin. Very light carbonation. Very drinkable, but there are much more flavorful beers out there.
