Pours a clear yellow golden color, topped with small white head. Malty aroma with grassy hops and some spices and herbs present in the back. Taste is similar, malty a bit grassy with medium bitterness in the finish. A decent one.

Gift from SJ. A mild beer with notes of grass, caramel malt and bread. A bit thin for my tastes, but not bad.

This beer was brewed again for the 2011 Sainsbury’s beer comp (it didn’t win): brown 500ml bottle, best before 30 Dec 2011, drank Oct 2011. Poured into a UK pint sleeve. Lager looking golden body with very little head. The bottle label asked for the beer to be served chilled, unusual for a British ale, I chilled it as requested. Saaz hops dominated the smell, some cereal odours too (barley and wheat used in the brew). The taste had a sharp hop bitterness with no malt content showing throughout the pint in smell or flavour. A true summery beer, not really my sort, but OK if you like light bodied ales that lean more towards hops than malts.

Pale gold, cold and fizzy with hints of diacetyl. Having said that, it was very drinkable and I quite liked it.

0.5 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Golden color. Resiny, citric and peppery hop aroma. Dry fruity taste with citrus, pine resins, pepper, minerals, medium bitterness and some fruity tartness. Light body, minerals in palate. Easy light beer.

500 ml bottle. BBE 30.12.2011.
Pours a clear yellow colour with a large white head. Looks like a pils really. Aroma of hay, honey and grainy malts. Flavour of grainy malts, honey, light hops, hay and some cardboard-like notes. Light bodied, slick mouthfeel and a light, sweet, bitter finish. Some unpleasant cardboard notes in the finish too. Rather boring for a Golden Ale. This is more of a pils.
