COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - Summer.
Summer Hog is a crisp, light and thirst quenching beer. It is most refreshing when served cool and with its carefully blended English Fuggles and Goldings hops it is flavoursome and moreish. This is certainly a beer to be enjoyed on a hot summer’s day.

The aroma is slightly hopy. The color is golden and it has a small disappearing head. The flavor starts out bitter, turning sweet in the middle, to give way to the bitterness again. A very drinkable summer beer, but nothing special.

Sampled cask conditioned at Shepherd’s Inn, Melmerby, Cumbria.
Pale orange. Hay aroma. Sweet, medium bodied. Aromatic nose. Slight unpleasant hint of sweet corn in the finish.

Golden; hazy; wheaty aroma, w/slight citric hop note; soft, creamy body; still finishes refreshing despite its lightness, lack of acidity and general malt-accent.

Cask conitioned at a Wetherspoons. Light golden beer woth thin head. Light dainty thinnish beer with a sweet gentle malt. Gets to be a little crystal bitter in the finish.

Another gold lager coloured summer quaffer, much like the Downton Chimera Wheat I had immediately before. This one had a bit more sweet malt and a soft mouthfeel, but still managed to be refreshing. Not much in the way of aroma. Cask (handpump), Crosse Keys (JDW), City of London.

Coudy straw in colour, this beer has a zesty fresh aroma. Flavours are light and fruity and as crisp as an autumn morning. T'aint bad.

Hand pulled at the Corner House, Birmingham. Slight cloud to this golden ale, with a nice, long lasting frothy head. Quite a bit of flavour here I thought, with a distinct and sweetish hoppy flavour. Finish is good and long and this does pack in more than 3.8% of taste. Has the slightly swirly hop juiciness that good UK beers do not manage as often as they should. Liked this.
