COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - October.
Brewed by our Head Brewer, Derek Lowe, and his team using only the materials that would have been available in Nelsons day, giving it a strong hoppy taste. At the time of the Battle of Trafalgar, seamen were issued with a gallon of beer per day, which must have made manning the yardarms a risky business.

Cask Conditioned at The Bell, Banbury. Ooh tricky business this rating, I've added Cask into the title to seperate this 4.2% bitter from the 9% Bottle Conditioned Ale. This is a darkl, richly malted beer, a little one dimensional but not without some nutty qualities. Patriotically named for our stuffing of the French, but could have been better.

A deep orange brown beer with a strong white head. A discreet hoppy aroma with a sweet liquorice touch. The flavour is of dry hop bitterness, although with a smooth finish. (Draught - The Bull Inn, Sonning, nr. Reading, Berkshire).

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2006 A little smooth, but bitter anyway. The picture is different, but it is the same beer. I like finding this type of beers.

Cask@GBBF, 05. Darkish brown beer with a light musty aroma and a light floral flavour. Overall a nice beer.

Dark oak colour. Fruity, slightly vinous, aroma. Flavour is malty and fruity. the mouthfeel is soft and sweetish. Not the most assertive of beers, but quite pleasant. Cask (handpump), Joiners Arms, Bishopston, Wales.

Cask. Chestnut colour, white head. Bitter, slightly watery flavour with slightly watery aftertaste. Not as bad as it sounds, even though it is a bit boring.

[Cask conditioned of course] Quite weak aroma. Thin and watery flavour. Bitter finish. Drinkable, but boring.

Cask conditioned
Beautiful amber color; a thin persistent cap of foam. Light aroma, a bit yesty. Thin body, too watery, yeast and a light fruitness. A quite bitter final, a bit cheesy. Drinkable, but simple.
