2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Spiesy (2336) - Sydney, - DEC 22, 2003
Bottled. Dark reddish brown beer. Salty, sour and bitter tasting. Not what I was expecting. Very sharp and very long on the palate. It’s like drinking tainted beach water.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Vignale (914) - Malmö, SWEDEN - SEP 5, 2011
Smakade på en gammal flaska, minns inte årtalet hösten 2008 som hade fantastiska honungs- och marsipantoner, torkad frukt, portvin. Jag är svag för denna typ av öl, därav det höga betyget.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 yngwie (9204) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 30, 2008
Bottle at European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. A clear, brown beer without head. Oxidation, some caramel, alcohol and dried fruits in the aroma. The flavor has some sweetness, caramel and oxidation, leading to a lasting finish with caramel and oxidation. Warming, full-bodied and flat. A nice one, but still not there. I like English beers like this one, but it somehow disappointed a bit. (080913
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Cletus (6063) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 8, 2008
Pours brown with no head to speak of. Smells of caramel, dark fruit, sherry, port wine. Tastes sweet and sugary with a nice complimentary tartness and a fruity finish.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 MiP (11783) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUN 17, 2007
Bottle at KØ07. Very sweet, oxidized prune aroma. Clear red/brown colour. No head. The flavour starts off citric, turns sweet and then dried fruity. Very vinous and oxidized, with some alcohol notes. Very long raisin aftertaste. I just do not like old beer.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 johndoughty (2946) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - APR 17, 2006
Probably the most expensive bottle of beer I have purchased. Was it worth it? Well what I got was a bronze coloured ale tasting a bit like a port.Strong inviting aroma ansd a compex mix of tastes.Strong alcohol presence with some sweetness but not overpoweringly so. The bottle said 10 per cent not 9. A unique, well balanced ale-not sure though if it really was worth the price but its too late to worry about that.

UPDATED: JUL 21, 2005 Bottled, Vintage 2005, 10% ABV. Rerate.
Dark red-ish. Berry nose, slight marzipan and LOADS of Danish(which was it?) cheese. Cellary.
Brother of Prize Old Ale, sour, syrupy, aged feel, wood, slight licorice, ripe apples. I like this one! Medium-full bodied. Complex. Nice balance of sourness, sweetness, and body. And an interesting bitterness.
