COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bottled pale lager intended as an historic copy of a Parisian beer brand from 1890. Initally brewed at Nymburk, then Sutter and now, until the Gallia plant is open - at Gayant.

Bottle at home from the brewery.
clear burnished dark gold, tight white head with steady stream of bubbles. Sweet honeyed grain nose. Slick, medium body, sweet, Slightly papery, moderate carbonation, touch of banana bread. Inoffensive and probably refreshing on a hot day.

Huge, fluffy off-white head over clear coppery-golden beer. Extremely caramelly, even nearly fresh (weak) coffee nose, café noir cookies, going over in fresh, parsley aromatised malts; rainwater. Again caramel; weak tea flavoured with honey or caramelsyrup. Finish is definitely drier, hinting at noble hops, resulting in even some discreet bitternesss. Light body, creamy head, medium carbonation. Interesting as a concept, much less as a beer.

Bottle. Gold with a fast-fading white head. Grainy aroma with some earth and spice. Quite dry despite balance leaning towards grainy malt. Mildly spicy bitter finish lingers. Decent hops, rather bland malt.

330ml bottle from Monoprix, Marseille. Decent pale lager. Chewy malt, and a spanking of hops. A pleasant drink served cool from the fridge. It tastes like a Czech lager because that’s what it is. There is an interesting story regarding the history of the Parisian "Gallia" beer brand, which this is supposed to replicate - though it is unlikely the original beer tasted like this.

Not bad, nice colour and short head. Tastes of toasted cereal (Weetabix?) with medium body, and long hoppy finish.
