COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A clear golden lager beer with a characteristic body, fine bitternes and delicate aroma. Because of its full-bodied and balanced flavor it has become the preferred choice for those who enjoy a premium quality beer. This beer is sold in USA as Famosa

From a 12 oz. twist cap long neck brown bottle with no bottled/freshness date. Actually made an average macro appearance, poured a clear pale straw golden with a nice foamy white head that settled into a thin lacing, minimal amount of sticking, good carbonation. It goes downhill from here. Had a nose of cooked corn, husks and a light grassiness, the cooked corn ruins it for me. A crisp, slick and thin light bodied mouthfeel, because of smell and taste, unimpressive drinkability. The tastes aren’t that strong, a bit watery, but kind of foul overall, cooked corn and husky, a faint grassiness and dry sweet water downed malty finish, pretty unappealing. Well, I’ve tried it and now I don’t have wonder if I should pick it up when I see on the singles rack, won’t be buying again, mystery solved.

The aroma is light but seems to have sugar and slightly herbal hops. The appearance is very pale yellow and comparable to a N/A beer. The head is nearly non-existent. The flavor is a little tart with corn and mild astringent bitterness. The palate is thin but not surprising. Famous or Infamous?

I’m somewhat embarassed to admit it, but this one was kinda tasty for a pale lager (more than corn, for sure). Poured the pale yellow color with an initial 1cm head that just died quickly. Man, really watered down looking. Aroma from the bottle was all skunk. That went away, though. First sip was wooo, zingy. Hops? Wow, this thing has some flavor, grassy hops coming through, although not quite to a real quality pilsner level. But hey, for a pale lager, this wasn’t a bad showing. Slight acidic / citrus touch to it all. I’d drink this again, despite now having the stamp in my beer passport for Guatemala.

Bottle. Sour old barley malt/body odor aroma. Light golden yellow color. Thankfully the flavor isn’t quite as bad as the smell - still get an old barley malt flavor but the BO doesn’t come out as strong. Possibly an old bottle but probably still a typical Central Am beer - decent when you’re hot and sweaty but nothing great.

pours yellow with a medium head. I had to virtually suck this stuff up my nose before I found and sense of smell, which was very grainy. Taste was bitter but did not have much else.

Pours a pale golden yellow color with a fizzy white head. Aromas of hops, grass, and grains. Flavor is a kinda sweet, watery body, nice crisp hoppy/grain taste with a nice clean finish.

Bottle. Pours pale golden with a decent sized white head. Aroma of sweet malts and grain. Flavor is sweet up-front, slightly watery, but drinkable. Thin body, but not a bad summer beer.

A very light, crisp, clean drinking lager. Froth is slightly creamy. Easy to swallow on a hot summers day. Better than other mass produced lagers.

very light in color (yellow) with a spare head. It had a strong sour smell with not much flavor except for skunk.
