pouring a desperately pale yellow, like an old manís fingernails, famosa exposed bespeaks a closer proximity to tinny tap water than serious brewing. dropping a kernel of corn into it would surely double itís intensity. if it were architecture, it would be a shack so poorly built that itís own head would cause it to collapse into splinters. it is aromatic, but not of pleasant things: this beer has that kind-of rubbery smell of well-chewed dog toys, plain lip-balm, lightly composting corn cobs and dank magazine paper. naturally, itís limited flavor would be entirely arrested by the addition of a lemon wedge, unsqueezed. but one must concede that the drink is certainly wet, and thatís a good thing when consumed under perfect conditions--like after being locked in a cargo container in the mojave desert for nine days. a flavor of white grape and lemon, plus some tinniness derived from the parsimonious use of industrial grade hop-concentrate. oh, and iím pretty sure that this was barrel aged. no, i donít mean in an oak barrel-- i mean a gun barrel. thanks to clyde for a fun, if somewhat punishing bottle.

Tiny little bottle big thanks to sledutah for this nice little bonus. Dull golden coloration small fizzy head. Nose is wet blanket with corn. Tastes of corn, grains, wet pile of hay, touch of lemon, and sweet malts.

UPDATED: AUG 6, 2016 (bottle) clear yellow colour with a medium tall white head, aroma of noble hops, biscuit, bland, balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish; uninteresting but not offensive; better than expected actually, on par with other Latin American macros

Bottle. Clear pale yellow with large foamy whitish head, faint malt aroma, medium carbonation, faintly sour malt taste, thin body, abrupt finish. A generic lager.

Looked and tasted like a cheap lager. Was expecting it to not be anything great and it wasnít. Not sure where the sulfite came in to it but it was noted on the CAN that it was in there.

Poured from a bottle. Weak clear yellow off-putting color. Gunk on top. Malty flavor and tangy, could be worse.

An unpleasant sweaty yeast aroma, pours a clear gold color with a short lasting white head. A bitter funky grassy taste. Weak body and a lasting unpleasant wet hay finish.

Originally rated on 8/1/08.Clear golden yellow with a frothy white head. Not much aroma, tastes of a little corn and hay. A little lacing was left on my glass, overall its what you would expect, a bland, unexciting third world beer
