Bottle, bought @ Etregourmet.
All black with a firm, staying, medium, creamy, beige head. Aroma is sweet, vinious, grapes, chocolate, plums and raisins. Mild earthy and fruity notes as well. Lots of hazelnuts. Lowish carbonation, fat creamy and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is elegantly sweet, mild roasted, sweet chocolate, tobacco, hazelnuts and raisins. Fairly warming and vinious. Lingering earthy hops and roasted malt bitterness. Lovely.

Bottle. Thanks to Kamiel for this one! Opaque dark brown/black liquid with small to medium tan head. Some lacing, good head retention. Aroma of dark fruit, chocolate, port, belgo yeast esters, caramel, licorice, pumpernickel, red fruit and some very light ash/coffee action. Taste is light sweet, light to medium sour and light to medium bitter with notes of biscuit and wine. The sourness is really nice and fruity, didn’t expect it to be sour at all. Works well actually! Medium to full bodied with nice carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Enjoyed this quite a lot. The sourness makes it really stand out from other impys.

Countbeer (1943) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - APR 6, 2012
Bottle: Medium to smaller vast brown head, disappears with regular speed and leaves a black beer with a brown edgy shine and with a half open brown lacing. Smell is a strange mix of liquorice, coffee, oatmeal, lot of toasted/roasted grains, some hints of tar drenched berries, some slight hints of butter and some hop in the distance. The liquorice, coffee and oatmeal seems to be a strong together as the toasted/roasted malts on their own. There even seem to be some port and oak notes. Bit like a BA beer. Starts to smell interesting. Taste is a nicely balanced beer with some wine/port notes, some dark sweetness, like roasted brown sugars and plums/prunes, ginger bread and butter, light bitterness, coffee roast, berries, black berries, something light crispy sour (like a mix of port and berries) and a hint of dark chocolate. Aftertaste of vinous notes with some crispy darker fresh sour ish fruit and some dark sugary plum sweetness. All very well balanced. Low carbo, soft almost silky mouthfeel, full body and a creamy sticky texture. Really good tasting! Nice port notes and nice mix of dark fresh fruit and something light sour. I liked it!

Stout donde queda bien camuflado por los esteres el ABV del 12%.Si éstas sediento, tomate tu tiempo;porque es peligrosamente refrescante. 330ml bottle.Oversized glass.Enjoyed on nov´11.Dark mahogany in color, reddish brown to the light. Some rings & spooty lacing.Fresh berries to the nose.Bitter upfront followed by sour/acidic fruity flavor. Helpfully slightly flavor of toasted malt provides smooth palate. Cranberry & licorice notes showed in the middle last to the finish. Poured black with a large tan head. Aroma of dark toasted malt and floral hop. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavors of roast dark malt and chocolate, but it is somewhat vinous and seems to end with a slight sour note.

Scopey (1659) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 18, 2011
Bottle at the 2nd East Croydon Beer Tasting. It pours opaque black, with a thin beige head. The nose is soy sauce, varnish, salted liquorice, cherry, and ripe blueberry. The taste is surprisingly fruity: blueberry, blackcurrant, blackberry, as well as liquorice, subtle chocolate and light varnish. The alcohol is very well hidden. Full body, fine carbonation and very good balance. A tasty, fruity imperial stout.

Bottle. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, fruit, dark chocolate and licorice. The same in the rather vinous taste, also some sour notes. Not that heavy. A good but not a brilliant Imperial Stout.
