3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Garthicus. Thanks a bunch Al. Dry Hopped IPA version. Hazy amber lasting beige head. PNW grapefruit piney hoppy aroma. Yep it’s a good West Coast IPA clone. Pretty good hops. Some bitterness on the finish. Lychee and black pepper on the finish. A little bit of sweetness maybe from some crystal malt. Lovely hops though and I can’t believe this is coming out of Ireland compared with a lot of the beers from Eire. Very sessionable. Ho ho ho.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at mum and dads house, from Callans Dundalk, @5.8% 18/01/14.
Hazed golden amber with a good sized off white head that thins a little then retains.
Nose is earthy hops, mandarin, bitter orange marmalade, candied sugars, caramel malt.
Taste comprises orange pith, light mango pulp, red grapefruit, straw, earthy hops, malty undertones.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy hop bitterness in the finale.
Decent enough IPA - easy drinker, decent balance, not massively hopped but hops certainly well evident.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Keg @ The Cottage, Galway 5.8% new version
Amber, light haze, bubbly white head, good lacing
Aroma - Zesty citrus, slight resinous hops, some orange, sweet resins
Taste of zesty hops, bitter orange, bitter grapefruit zest, sharp biting zest, sweet fruity malt background
Palate - Medium carb and body, big bitter zest palate. Finish - sharp zesty bitter, very bitter linger almost to my limit but the sweetness
underneath just keeps it from getting too much
Overall - Decent IPA, plenty of hops in this

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Smells like an IPA, looks like an IPA it must be an IPA. Pours cloudy yellow with pillowy head. The nose is floral hops, a little dishwater on the nose. Flavour is biscuit sweet malts. Bitterness is strong on the finish. Fresh feel with this beer. Light carbonation which I think is good. Body is medium. This is a nice IPA.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2013 500ml bottle. Deep hazy amber, almost red, missed the head cos I blinked. Not much nose, trace elements of hops. Lots more hops in the flavour, backed by some big, sweet malts. Bitterness rises toward the finish. Really well balanced. Soft carbonation, though it?s there, decent body too. Finish is the same as the flavour. This is a half decent Irish IPA , not a special or a seasonal and properly priced, finally!

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2013 Bottle at home from local off-licence - poured cloudy amber with white head. Powerful citrus notes from the hops. Refreshing, hoppy flavour. I’d happily have this again - recommended.

Golden cloudy pour with a frothy white pour which dissipates rather quickly. Grapefruit, peach, soap, pine. Good carbonation, full with a consistent hoppy bitterness throughout.
