COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
DIPA with massive malt backbone, hopped with Galena, Chinook, Pacific Jade and Simcoe in the kettle, and two dry hop additions to boot! Massive pine-wood aromas up front with a hint of exotic spice in the background. Big bitterness of 132 IBUís provides a soft, lingering bite, balanced by the 8.5% ABV.

Proper Imperial thank God, not an imitation. Color was caramel and hints of orange, small white head that was gone quickly. Some soapy notes in the aroma along with the chewy juicy hops. Solid malt backbone here as well but the hops are really in the forefront. Nice crisp finish, oily hop resin that stays on the back of the tongue.

On tap brew dock. Pours amber with lasting head. Big citrus fruit hops, pine, spruce. Pithy grapefruit bitterness on finish. Nicely balanced.

On tap at the brew dock in Dublin. Orange Amber color, medium body medium carbonation. Fruity aroma, taste very bitter at the end. Not sweet. Very nice. N

Top bloody drawer! Massive fan of DIPAs and this is a great example, well done lads at Galway Bay. Big, powerful on the palate, tons of hops, nearly reminds me of Sierra Nevadaís Torpedo (my favourite) :)

Dark amber pour with a decent white head. Bursting with classic strong IPA aromas. Lots of pine, grapefruit, some mango, orange peel, caramel from the malts, resinous. Coats the mouth beautifully. A wonderfully balanced and flavoursome brew from Galway Bay and only their first crack at an Imp IPA I believe. I canít see how it could be improved upon. Well done lads, super stuff.

Draught at the Brew Dock - terrific DIPA, filled to the brim with citrus, orange, earthy, piney, hoppy goodness. A worthy candidate to fullfil the role of standard bearer of the burgeoning Irish craft movement.

Iíve had this on draught a few times. This is the best Irish beer ever brewed, a beautiful big bold double IPA, hoppy goodness.

Super hoppy, but balanced really well with a strong malt profile and citrus notes, leaving a refreshing bite and lingering taste.

Good to return to this beer after a while....now to try the bottle...aroma of massive tropical fruits, grapefruit, mango, sweet fruity malts, very fresh, complex fruits, fantastic aroma hangs around constantly, more fruity and less malty than before.....Taste of massive fruits, tons of hops, alcohol well hidden, hops so so fresh....Palate has huge sweetness and bitterness perfectly in balance....Overall - This is me is better than keg, more fruity, less fruity toffee malts, more tropical fruit, piney, fruit salad hop....Yes this is the #1 in Ireland...up to 4.3

Cask @ The Salthouse, Galway [160414] 4/7/8/3/15 3.7
Found this rather cloying on cask - flavours are heavy....really needs to be on keg, the CO2 just lightens everything up, more dynamic flavour and aroma, better palate. Iíve had it a couple of times more on keg and itís much better for my palate

Keg @ Cottage Bar, Galway [021213] 8/4/8/4/17 4.1
Deep hazy orange, dense bubbly white head, good lacing
Aroma - big tropical fruits, sweet fruity malts, grapefruit pith, lots of pithy resinous fruits, super aroma
Taste as the aroma, great background of sweet fruits, mango, tropical nots, juicy citrus, resinous hops, good bitter sweet balance, complex flavour, so drinkable for the abv, cracking stuff
Palate - Soft carb, full body, rich mouthfeel, sweet malt, intense bitter hops in there but counterbalanced well be the sweet malts. Finish is smooth, equally intense sweet and bitter.
Overall -They beat BrewDog easily at making DIPAs with this. Absoutely superb.
