Pitch black pour with a medium beige head. Aroma: Roasted malt, hint of pepper, smoky notes, peat., coffee. Taste: slightly dry and full bodied. Slightly bitter with a hint of peppery heat.

Draught. Black with a tan heat. Aroma is dry malt. Flavour is toasted coffee malt with a touch of creamy vanilla. Dusty dry velvet finish. Very drinkable.

On draught at Salt House. The beer pours a dark brown color with a medium creamy tan head that diminishes steadily. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt and mild coffee. Light to medium-bodied with a roasty character and notes of grainy malt and coffee. The finish is mildly bitter with a slight coffee and hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draught at Brew Dock, Dublin. Very dark brown, small head. Earthy coffee aroma,. Dry with clean mouthfeel. Earth and licorice. Mid bitter finish. Nice roasty flavours, but shallow malt character.

Keg at Brew Dock, Dublin A fairly complex and dry porter. A touch of lactose, dark chocolate, roast malts, thick body.

On tap at the salt house. Appearance: Jet black, tiny yellow head. Aroma: Coffee, chocolate, quite roasty. Simple but pleasing. Flavour: Excellent malt flavour, toasty, great bitterness with the right amount of coffee. Long bitter finish. Lovely.

Draught at Against the Grain. Clear brown coloured with a small off-white head. Light roasted aroma of caramel, peat and chocolate. Light roasted flavour of peat, caramel, fridge and dark chocolate. Roasted finish.
