Poured black with thin tan head. Big chocolate and raisin aroma. Flavour is of roasted malt, biscuit, chocolate, raisin. Really really good stout. One of my faves

Aroma is sweetly caramel, coffee and chocolate and it pours a darkly ruby black with a tan head that gives way. Full bodied and softly carbonated with quite a creamy sweet vanilla and conducive malty taste. The finish is very good and on reflection not as cloying as had been expected; would certainly try again and have more than one to see how they sit.

500ml Bottle from OíRiellyís, Lisnaskea (£2.79):
This one was quite an enjoyable beer from Galway Hooker, definitely more sweet than I had anticipated but the vanilla flavors that came through from the start were very nice and highly enjoyable, the sweetness doing well to balance the beer against itís stronger, more traditional stout flavors. A solid beer and one that Iíll look to pick up again the next time Iím in Ireland.

Bottle at Mum and Dads, 25/12/14, from Callans Dundalk. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is rich roast, raisens, chocolate, light smoke, dark fruits. Taste comprises cocoa powder, roast malt, charr, Bourbon biscuit, dark fruits, light coffee notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with an earthy roasty rub. Decent stout, well rounded, good balance.

Bottle at a beer festival. Black with a cream head, texture is thin. Aroma has notes of coffee. Flavour is sweet creamed coffee with a mild sweetish malt finish but a bit grainny. Wasnít impressed but I will try it again.

Keg @ Tigh Neachtains, Galway [031213]
Black, dense creamy beige head, good lacing
Aroma of soft bitter roast, soft dark malts, not much else
Taste of soft roasted malts, dab of bitter hop in there, slight chcolate, getting a dab of sweet dark caramel malt
Palate - Medum body, creamy texture. Finish of soft bitter roast.
Overall - Maybe it was the day I had it, but I canít share the enthusiasm for this as other raters here...tbh I found it rather dull, hardly better than the usual black stuff. Iíll definitely re-rate this if I see it again.....

Pint at Neachtains. I can't provide much in the way of details for this as I had a few pints of this over a week ago other than to say it was a very good stout, in my opinion far superior to that other more famous Irish stout that it competes with. I hope Galway Hooker Brewing Co. bottle this and sell it everywhere. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
