COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A dark ale brewed with Ethiopian coffee and aged with oak chips. A rich flavoursome porter in which malt sweetness is balanced against hop and coffee bitterness, with a hint of vanilla from the oak.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2008 Keg at the Bull and Castle, Dublin. Nice smokiness, coffee, oaky. This has been conditioned with oak chips, which giveds a pronounced woody dryness. Multi layered, well balanced. A pity this is seemingly a one-off.

Colore rosso-marrone,scarsa schiuma.Aroma di malto tostato.Sapore di caramello,un pò di amaro del luppolo e sentori di caffè.Sufficiente ma visto l’assaggio improvvisato(un amico tornato dall’Irlanda con un keg di questa birra!!!)andrebbe riprovata,chissà quando...

Cask@ Easter Beer Festival, Franciscan Well. Quite unattractive, murky reddish/brown, small head. I wouldn’t have put it down as a porter. Toasted malt aroma,a little dissappointingly on the weak side. The flavour is very interesting though. Caramel maltiness, some hop bitterness and a real big hit of burnt coffee. The flavour is so dominant that its almost like beer passed through a coffee filter. Not too complex but very distinct. Medium body. Pretty good.
