onlyrocknroll (215), Cork, Ireland Mar 24, 2008 Cask@ Easter Beer Festival, Franciscan Well. Quite unattractive, murky reddish/brown, small head. I wouldn’t have put it down as a porter. Toasted malt aroma,a little dissappointingly on the weak side. The flavour is very interesting though. Caramel maltiness, some hop bitterness and a real big hit of burnt coffee. The flavour is so dominant that its almost like beer passed through a coffee filter. Not too complex but very distinct. Medium body. Pretty good.

Nice smokiness, coffee, oaky.
This has been conditioned with oak chips, which giveds a pronounced woody dryness. Multi layered, well balanced.
A pity this is seemingly a one-off.
