COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an exciting new style of beer that we call Irish Pale Ale. This delicious beer is pale in colour, has a full well balanced hop flavour and aroma, a good foamy head, a carbonation level similar to standard lagers. Now you can, of course, make it as complicated as you like by adding various chemicals and preservatives to the beer so that it ferments and matures faster, has a longer shelf life and is cheaper to produce. However, as a small independent craft brewery, we believe in using traditional techniques and think that only the four basic ingredients of beer should be used to produce this wonderful, thirst quenching, “magic potion”. All we want to do is produce a pure and natural beer for the Galway market. Nothing more.

Golden/dull bronze colour. Seems fairly richly hopped, with English hops so really as fun. Has a mostly earthy character in abundance but not much else. Decently made but boring concept.

Draught at Bull and Castle Dublin. Golden with a full white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts. Smooth texture with little hops for an IPA. Finish is light and smooth, not bitter.

On tap at Porterhouse in Dublin, Ireland, although I saw it on tap at a few other places over the course of the week. Pretty standard APA, which surprised me, as it was from Ireland. Nice hops, not too bitter. Could’ve maybe used a little more malt flavor/texture, but it wasn’t bad.

On tap at O’Neill’s, Dublin, 06.19.10. Hazy golden orange, white head. Aroma is slightly grassy hoppy. Flavor is caramel, vanilla: very malty with some hops bitterness. Drinkable.

tap at Porterhouse in Dublin - Pours deep golden and has a caramel malt aroma. It tastes of lightly toasted caramel malt with minimal hops. It reminded me more of a marzen, though of course that’s a lager style, than a pale ale as it didn’t seem to have much hops at all like others have described. Not bad.

Deep gold body, thick white head. Nice aroma of fruity hops in good measure. Medium body and carbonation. Nice hop flavour; grass with a distinct ripe fruitiness. Pretty good bitter lingering finish. Decent IPA, if in a wee bit tame.

on tap @ the bierhaus, cork. good color and aroma for a pale ale, and after having way too many lagers so far this week, a hoppy pale ale from one of the only microbreweries in ireland was just the thing. very refreshing and nice hop character, a little mild and needs more of an abv punch, but good beer that i will have to have one more of.

Cask. Poured a pale amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma had notes of citrus and pine hops. Flavor was hoppy for the most part. It began with the citrus hops and ended with the pine.
