COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an exciting new style of beer that we call Irish Pale Ale. This delicious beer is pale in colour, has a full well balanced hop flavour and aroma, a good foamy head, a carbonation level similar to standard lagers. Now you can, of course, make it as complicated as you like by adding various chemicals and preservatives to the beer so that it ferments and matures faster, has a longer shelf life and is cheaper to produce. However, as a small independent craft brewery, we believe in using traditional techniques and think that only the four basic ingredients of beer should be used to produce this wonderful, thirst quenching, “magic potion”. All we want to do is produce a pure and natural beer for the Galway market. Nothing more.

Cask at the porterhouse, covent garden. Alround rating: Biscuity cardboard malts, thin with grassy bittering hops only showing at the end, not balanced and fairly boring.

On tap at Monroe’s in Galway. Pours a great American golden amber. A nice break from the monotonous but traditional pints of Guinness and Murphy’s in the pubs. Nice hop character and clean crisp finish.

Had only on Draught, Light Pale colour, reasonable thick creamy hear, carbonation is at a decent level. A good hit of hops from it, and easy to drink if you’re sticking to one beer.

Draught. Very pleasant beer, great durable, compact, finger-deep head. Pours very appealing ochre. Complex subtle hops on the nose, with warm reassuring zest on the palate.

The Bull and Castle, Dublin. Now were talking. Whipped stable head over spiralling yellow beer. Rocky and lacy until the last. Shockingly Alpha snout of aromatic resins, soapy mandarin, supporting toasty malts. Sniffs of Titanic or Atomic. Some really clean zesty hops, maybe Amarillo or Cascade. Gentle nuttiness balancing the hop zing. Lean, assertive sessions shot through with mandarin tang. So good I had another.

Cask @ Great British Beer Festival, GBBF 2008, Earls Court, London, England SW5.
Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, damp-stained, dusty. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (050808)

Cask, third pint at GBBF 08. Golden body colour topped by a ring of bubbles. Light floral aroma. Flavour with notes of hop resin. Dry palate (05.08.2008).

A Mes rate: Gravicask at GBBF.
Pale gold with a thin white film. Slight hops, some herbal notes and hints of grain. A hit of sweetness in the finish is instantly kicked out of the way by some old dusky hops. A bit low on character but very drinkable.

Cask conditioned - gravity dospense - GBBF 2008. A golden beer with a white head. The aroma has hops in the nose but with an unexpected sweetness. The taste is fairly hoppy with a sweet perfumed mouthfeel. Decent enough but I hoped for more.

Cask at GBBF ... Pale golden yellow ... light fruity hop ... little malts ... light easy uninspired fruity hop ...
