COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an exciting new style of beer that we call Irish Pale Ale. This delicious beer is pale in colour, has a full well balanced hop flavour and aroma, a good foamy head, a carbonation level similar to standard lagers. Now you can, of course, make it as complicated as you like by adding various chemicals and preservatives to the beer so that it ferments and matures faster, has a longer shelf life and is cheaper to produce. However, as a small independent craft brewery, we believe in using traditional techniques and think that only the four basic ingredients of beer should be used to produce this wonderful, thirst quenching, “magic potion”. All we want to do is produce a pure and natural beer for the Galway market. Nothing more.

Bottle: Deep golden, firm creamy white head, delicate fruity-toasty nose with some well hidden hops underneath; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, not really dry, light bodied, smooth MF; soft and lingering toasty-hoppy finish. Nice, but a bit thin…

På fat. Mycket härliga dofter av smörkola, citron och krusbär når näsan. Smakar nästan lika bra som den luktar, där sötman och beskan trivs väldigt väl tillsammans. Smaker av smörkola, röda bär, citron och grape.

On tap, bloody stream howth. Nose of hops, slight fruits. Sweet taste but very light aftertaste. Pretty average but glad to escape the hum drum.

500ml bottle (K Kamppi, Helsinki)
Pleasant sweet red berry hoppy aroma. Some Doppio Malto butteriness too. Slightly sticky palate, OK carbonation. Tastes and feels very dead, but it does have a nice full grainy roast. Some caramel, some huskiness. Resiny hop finish, dry and drying. But they’re not full hops, it’s very extracty. Sub-par for an ale. Commercial description is bullshit - adding preservatives so that it ferments quicker!?!?!?

On keg at Bull & Castle, Dublin. Pale golden with white head. Plenty of toffee hints, with hop balance. Very good malty session ale.

The head is medium, the body blond. It smells sweet, malty, a bit hoppy. The taste is malty, hoppy, grainy, bit bitter. Nice basis just a bit mild. 11/11/12/11/-/11
