COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an exciting new style of beer that we call Irish Pale Ale. This delicious beer is pale in colour, has a full well balanced hop flavour and aroma, a good foamy head, a carbonation level similar to standard lagers. Now you can, of course, make it as complicated as you like by adding various chemicals and preservatives to the beer so that it ferments and matures faster, has a longer shelf life and is cheaper to produce. However, as a small independent craft brewery, we believe in using traditional techniques and think that only the four basic ingredients of beer should be used to produce this wonderful, thirst quenching, “magic potion”. All we want to do is produce a pure and natural beer for the Galway market. Nothing more.

A light copperbrown beer with a almost medium but decreasing, blond head. Aroma is fresh and fruitfull even some tropical, lemon and caramelly malts. Taste is toffeeish, slightly fruitfull, lemon and aftertaste is dryer and wooden. Light+, but it’s not bothering. Nicely aromatic and fresh beer, for easy enjoy.

Bottle, bought @ Vinspecialisten, Kolding Storcenter.
Clear pale amber golden with a small, frothy, white head. Fine duration. Aroma has sweet doughy malts, some grapefruit, citric, soft pine. Medium to high carbonation, fine light but nicely elegant dry mouthfeel. Flavour is softly citric, mild pine, fair bitterness. Good balance and very easy to drink.

Bottle at home. Pale orange amber, frothy head that fades with some light lacing. Nice fruit nose - apricot, hint of orange zest, some lager/noble hop earthiness too. Similar palate, dry and somewhat juicy with more of that noble hop vibe, black pepper, hint of ester and a dry grainy finish. Not bad!

This was a very hoppy Pale ale, it was very similiar to an ipa except a lighter mouth feel.

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2012 On our March Irleand trip we tried to taste new beers from the country. The Galway Hooker was the first tasted and it was excellent. On Galway bay the sailboats are called Hookers. While in Dublin at the Palace bar we tried Galway Hooker for the first time. The bartender Jimmy was very helpful in recommending places to visit in Galway. The ale poured a bright clear golden color. It had a fresh "fun on the tongue" flavor. We only found in a few bars across the country that had the ale available. One pub in Galway said that it was having great success and he was sold out. The ale had a nice white head with lacing. This is a very drinkable ale for any time. I did detect some vanilla and licorice. Smooth finish with no bitterness with a lively carbonation.
