COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Often called a Victorian secret, Bellefonte PA was founded in 1795. Our raspberry wheat is brewed with a combination of wheat and barley, fermented with our house yeast and finished off with pureed raspberries.

From BA revies on 3-1-12 - Had on tap in a pint glass Appearance – A golden colored brew with a nice head upon pouring. The head dissipates rather quickly leaving very little lacing. Smell – Very strong raspberry aroma. Very little else can be detected due to the strength of the raspberry. A very small amount of citrus hop is there and a small amount of maltiness, but very faint. Taste – A sweet raspberry flavor through and through with a nice malt flavor backbone. Mouthfeel – A very nice level of carbonation with a smooth light body. Very easy to drink. Overall – A good beer for a warm day while sitting outside. Nothing spectacular, but a nice sweeter brew if it’s the mood you are in.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber with a small white head. Sweet fruitiness and candy tones on the nose. Medium-bodied, sweet right away, tastes of raspberry candy, comes off a bit grainy and bitter. More fruit into the finish, lingering grain.

The beer appears decently with a nice pinkish hue, a nice pinkish head, and some lacing on the glass. The beer smells average as it has a mild hint of raspberry puree that fades quickly into a a grassy/wheat finish. The beer tastes great actually with grassy/lemony wheat taste that slides into a raspberry finish that isn’t overly sweet or overpowering, a great transition. The mouthfeel is decent as the beer is carbonated well and the mouthfeel is somewhat sweet lingering for the raspberry puree. Overall, I don’t really care for fruit beers but open to anything and this one was pretty good. I think this beer could appeal to the masses and the snobs.

The flavor was dryish and nutty with tart raspberries and light bread. The finish was long and dryish with nut, bread and berries lingering. Medium body. Solid.
