Dvojrmutový varný postup, typický pro Gambrinus i většinu piv plzeňského typu, naši sládci obohatili o podíl karamelového sladu a především o unikátní dávkování chmele. Spočívá v přidání třetí dávky chmele až po ukončení chmelovaru, na samém konci varného procesu. To přináší plnější chuť spolu s intenzivnější chmelovou vůní.

(Can, 0.5 l, from a supermarket next to my hotel, 20160612) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sweetness and hint of malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, malts, butter and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and mildly bitter. A rather pointless brew.

Pours clear golden with thin white head. Nose is lagery. Aromas are herbal hops, sweet malts and citrus. High carbonation, light body. Medium bitter and citrusy finish. Not the worst lager in the place.

IN the Gambrinus range this one has the highest alcohol (of the regular brews--they now have "limited editions" which may be different). It is brewed a different way with two types of hops and as a result has a bit of an edge over other mass produced lagers made in the Czech Republic. The edge is small but if you are faced with limited choices (such as at a small store or pub) this may be the relative winner. Color is a bit richer than some competitors, taste is not fantastic but drinkable.

Bottle 50cl, a clear copper beer with medium head, low retention. Nose is on grassy hops and almond like hops. Aroma is medium malty, light toasted caramel, grassy hops, almond, bit low body but pleasant.

(bottle) clear deep golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of lightstruck hops and buttered corn, with a very light hint of vanilla, some honey and pale malts. flavour is mostly honey-tinged pale malts and floral hops, slightly meaty and oxidized, with a hint of chalk and a light-bitter finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation.
