draught at U svatého Filipa a Jakuba in Prague (Arbesovo námestí, Smíchov). Normally you can’t get unfiltered Gambrinus, in September and October 2010 it has been released to see how it takes on the market. At the hospoda where I tried it, it seemed very popular, people also bought it to take away. Nefiltrovany Gambrinus is slightly unclear with a creamy white head and a shy hoppy nose. Light-bodied, shy but solid malty background with shy, but ok hops. Compared to the normal Gambrinus this is definitely a step forward, although there are many better unfiltered beers around in the Czech Republic.

Still available in Prague as of May 2012. Good tasty brew with mostly malt flavors and light on the hops bitterness.

on tap at sedmy nebe in pilsen, a newish gambrinus pub, with good old evan rail. quite a pale shade of golden with, yes, a faint haze that is certainly more appealing than a standard gambac. the head retention also appears improved. light aroma of plain flour and a touch of white grape; thin and quick with some light grassy bitterness but at least much less of the industrial malt accent normally associated with gambrinus
