On tap at Cambrinus on 9/3/09: Pours a transparent ruby mahogany with a well-lacing froth of light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and raisins with some doughy yeasty complexity and light fruity esters. Starts with good fullness and malty sweetness with a finely dissolved carbonation and hints of peppery clove and dark caramel and bready complexity before a slightly drier full finish. Very well-balanced and enjoyable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught at Cambrinus in Brugge. Sweet, brown sugar aroma. Very dark brown colour, seems clear. Big, stable light brown head. The flavour starts off roasted, turns sweet, like brown sugar, and ends with a bit of sourness. Good sweetness with a hint of alcohol to balance.
