In bocca è squisita, leggerissima, asciutta e pulita, pane, malto, lieviti, grande beva, ottima sostanza. Corpo leggero, carbonazione media. Gran bella bevuta!

on tap at the fraenkisches bierfest 2013 in nuremberg. honeyed colour with a huge and lingering head; aroma of nutty malt, passionfruit and limestone; great mix of flavours - porridge, calcium, decent bitterness; classy stuff

Draft in Strassgiech (and again at the beer fest in Nuernberg). Head is initially average sized, frothy, mostly lasting. Body is light amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, caramel, toasted grain), moderately hoppy (apricot, flowers), with notes of dried mango/papaya. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, silky texture, soft carbonation. As usual, Andy’s beer transcends description...I noticed today that my feeble notes can’t really articulate this, and that’s been true of his other brews. Having one of his beers in your hand is like being a deer caught in headlights...it’s so mesmerizing that you can’t really put thoughts into words. Drank many half-liters of this at both the Zoiglstube and at the beer fest in Nuernberg and it’s about as life-affirming and blissful as beer can get.

BeerViking (2292) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 18, 2013
UPDATED: JUL 19, 2013 Tap at the brewpub, dark amber and very hazy with a clingy thin white head. Malty nose with a hint of orange. Solid malty body, bitter with fruity overtones - orange marmalade and toasted caramel. Re-rate at Störenkeller, Bamberg, a lot spicier, with notes of cloves and cardamom, orangey body is still there but lurking beneath a Saison-like overlay. Still very good, but rather different.

Draught at Gallow’s Bird, Espoo. Poured clear copper in color with a creamy, small white head. Nutty and bready malty on the nose. Flavour quite similar. Slightly dry, semidark bread in aftertaste. A bit of disturbing vegetables in taste also.

Orange body with a very small white head. Aroma is malty, a bit citrus. Taste is malty again (bread). Body small to medium, flat carbonation. I had 1,5 liter the same day. Good and refreshing

Tap @ Gasthuas Drei Kronen, Slisslitz. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, bready, yeast, honey, grass, flowery hops. Flavor is bready malt, yeasty, honey, fresh grassy and flowery hops. Medium body, soft carbonation. Wellbalanced and super easy drinkability. Very well made. 080812

Tap @ brewery. Cloudy orange appearance with a big off white head. Super bready, rich yeasty, a big fruity, toasty aroma. Fucking delicious aroma. Citrusy, quite bready, rich yeasty, cracker flavor. A work of art.
