4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
33cl bottle at home from Kaapse Brouwers, Rotterdam. Body is dark brown, head is small, beige, creamy, mostly diminishing, good lacing. Nose is chocolate, flavor is very dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee, cocoa. Light to medium sweet, heavy roasty bitter. Finish is long lasting roasty bitter, tons of dark chocolate, alcohol is well covered. Full body, thin texture, nearly flat carbonation. Excellent chocolate dessert beer, easy and very tasty.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Dark brown muddy pour. Strange dusty aroma of fruity hops and licorice. Tastes unexpectedly hoppy, with licorice, caramel and something sweet that could be honey. Interesting, but also a bit weird.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Gek muf hopluchtje choco op de achtergrond. Salmiak domineert de smaak. Best lekker maar niet heel speciaal.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very small cream-coloured head over black beer. Liqueurish nose & sweet bread as bread soaked in wine and sweet soy sauce; liquorice. Lots of liquorice and drop in the taste - even salt drop. Bitterness made salty/mineral by the combination? Finish is quite dry, nearly ashy. Medium bodied, but very (grist)slick, slight oily feel. Yeah... somehow I fear the exotic hops don’t work well with the more traditional rest.

Bottle as rail soda, courtesy of random stranger. Pours a pitch black beer with a small off white head on top. Aroma has loads of coffee, roasted malts, dark caramel. Flavor has loads of coffee, caramel, big sweetness. Nice in balance, long sweetish aftertaste. Good stuff.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt, licorice, vegetable notes in the aroma. Seaweed. Malty sweet, roasty flavor with salted licorice. Sweetish, laurel. An odd mix of a doppelbock and a porter. Hard to rate this beer properly.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
What a full and layered array of aromas! Draf, wort, grass, dark cane sugar, melasse, candi. Soft mouthfeel with at start the alpha acids kicking in some bitterness, slowly shifting to a malty taste and subtle aftertaste of hops and herbal flavours. The hops go from a subtle smell to an interesting taste. This baltic porter is a bit watery, which makes it very drinkable. It’s different + has has a stunning nose - even some pepper after some sniffs. Lovely!
