6x50cl from Ganter Brauerei around the corner. Straightforward, but convincing roasty and tasty doppelbock. Both dry and sweetish but not cloying, minimally alcoholic - could stand some aging? Had this on tap at the brewpub where it was slightly more creamy, from the bottle it is less spectacular but still above average, compared to the dark dobbelbock plonk I have had in Germany lately...

Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel and butterscotch. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and fruits, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.
