3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I made this assessment based upon a measure poured off tap from Casselís. I waited for it to warm up from the over-cold gas pour and saw that it was black with ruby notes in the dimple of the glass. Aromas came forth of raisin and plum sauce, inedible cherry but still it was too cold. I tasted (said Hemmingway), it was cold and it was like Renaissance Elemental Porter, a beer I LOVE. It had the berry and plum with touches of coffee, red plums and coffee. An understated stout but immediately drinkable until you get to the point where you canít drive, canít speak properly and canít engage third gear on your legs. My best advice is to lower the alcohol. Please?

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by Travlr at the Baltimore Late Late Summer Gathering, 9/14/13. Pours a dark brown color with a dark brown head. Decent head retention. Aroma of sweet malts, roast, nuts, anise, chocolate. The taste is chocolate, dark fruits, roast, herbal notes, anise. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. Interesting, a bit different.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a jet black with a small tanned head. Sticky lacing left around the glass! Fantastic stuff. Nose has lots of cocoa, roast coffee, licorice, citrus & vanilla. Taste is super smooth. Starts of a little chewy with raisins but the milk chocolate and licorice flavours sooth it out. Nice citrus hop bitterness makes for a sessionable brew. Dry finish on the palate. Good hoppy stout pretty easy going stuff. For a standard stout this is perfect great beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2013 On tap, this was an excellent black IPA to my taste. The bottled version was definitely different and was a good coffee tending stout. Either way, another great brew from the good folks at Garage Project.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I had it from tap, quite a while ago, so my comments could be imprecise. I can recall a nice, "noir", good appearance, a light cream-coloured head and a rather thin body which made me think this was a Schwarzbier. Mostly sweet (roasted) grainy flavours and not much fruit. Charred bitter. Strong alcohol quite deceiving. But thin... One must realise that "stout" was primarily an adjective. Iíd be happy to try it again though.

Itís a box of tricks alright. Lots of strong notes and not a one of them more dominant than the others. I was disappointed int he aroma, but then I got a lot of fun with the taste, I would have like less a bitterness, but thatís picking. but each sip/gulp has something each time. Very good. And youíll find yourself 2 or 3 of these inside you easily making the walk home a bit wobbly.

Thinner, less sweet, less ístoutyí than expected, as someone else said, very much a stout porter. Lots of dark plums and raisin, a bit of coffee and a warm slightly spicy finish. I really took my time with this and it paid off: the beer was a bit one dimensional at first, but after the bottle had been open for half an hour or so, it really got its act together and became very more-ish
