This has been one of the most challenging Garage brews to date. At its heart was the idea of combining aggressive, high citrus character of American hops with the heat and sweetness of Indochine flavours. Have you ever tried a Vietnamese mango and chili salad? If you havenít you should. It could be life changing. Itís an idea that has been rattling around the Garage consciousness for a while and the Great Australasian Beer Spectapular seemed like a fitting opportunity to give it an outing. It was always going to be a challenging brew to pull off Ė mango, chili, Vietnamese mint and lime juice arenít exactly conventional ingredients. Donít bother checking, they arenít listed in the Reinheitsgebot. Add a lavish addition of Chinook, Centennial, Citra and Amarillo hops, a deadline launch for an international beer festival and take it straight to a 2000 litre batch without any chance for small scale testing and you get what could have been a recipe for spectacular, monumental disaster. The idea of trying to bring all these flavours together in a coherent way given the pressure of time and prospect of public humiliation was, frankly, shit scary.

Despite being a heavyweight beer, this is not all hop bitterness and chewy malt... the addition of ínon-traditionalí ingredients really lift the hop aroma to the fore. Nice work.

Can at the Cads 10th Anniversary bash, thanks to Wingmanwillis, 29/03/15. Hazed golden amber with a decent light beige covering. Nose is pine needle, mandarin, orange pith, straw, grapefruit. Taste comprises mango, straw, pine, mineral trace, light bread dough, caramel, red grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close laced with juicy hop bitterness. Decent enough IPA.

Nice grapefruit notes in the aroma, small soapy head on orange amber body. Sharper citric hops in the taste, with some soft caramel malts. Gentle, savory brew.

Can at The Cadís 10 yr Shindig. Thanks to the Wingman. It pours hazy golden-amber with a small white head. The nose is bitter-sweet, doughy, stewed orange, tropical fruits, orange muffin, spice, earth and brioche. The taste is bitter, piney, resin, juicy, caramel, tropical fruits, orange sponge cake and varnish with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Juicy. Decent stuff.

Can share at the Cadís tasting, 7.5%. Thanks! Hazy orange amber, smalll foamy white head. Aroma is like dry Citra hop flowers, lemonade, floral. Body is medium to light, slightly foamy, tingly carbonation. Taste is lemonade, straw, floral, light malts. Of the additions, I could get a little mint but no chili. Anyway, decent stuff.

Pours amber with small head. Nice hoppy citrusy aroma with caramel and toffee from the malt. Quite strong, but very well balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a 440ml can on 6/3/2015. Pours an opaque dark golden with a small head. Has a pleasant fruity hop aroma. Flavour wise, you get lots of sweet citrus, stone and tropical fruit (mandarin, peach, mango, melon). What makes this a bit different is the bitterness, which is just a touch hot with hint of chili and mint, which makes it cling ardently to the back of your mouth. Has a fullish body and average carbonation. A very good and quite unusual brew.

12oz can pours an orangey brown color without much head. Very viscous. Intense tropical and citrus hops. Not enjoying the other flavors added to it so much.
